LVN-BSN National University January 2013 cohort

Published

Hello!

I've applied to the LVN to BSN cohort at National University in SD that begins in January 2013. Anyone else there apply, too? I'm currently waiting for an email so I can take the TEAS.

Don't think like that. I'm sure you're do great tomorrow. Have you done the practice test from ati? They help to give you an idea of how the test will be set up. You have a 3.0 GPA if you score well on the test and the essay I'm sure you'll get it. I do understand how you are feeling. I'm not that great with test taking and it really isn't fair that we have to jump through another hoop to try to get into the program. I don't understand why they would extend the deadline. There are usually 40-50 applicants in a cylce so to have 80 applicants I think is ridiculous

I have taken the teas before, version 4 and got a 75, soi have reviewed and hope to do better this time around, me and 2 other girls are carpooling downin the AM we will prob be there early to attempt to de- stress together, I really hope we can all start together and begin this next chapter, so you haven't worked as an LvN? Where did you do your program?

I was able to challenge the board because of my military experience and take the NCLEX PN test. I have no experience as an LVN. Did you set up your ATI account? We're all in this together. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you de-stress.

I have one more practice test that I haven't accessed yet. I wonder if I gave you the ID number and password if you can access it and do it so you can see where you stand on version 5

Wow I would love to try if you don't mind, my email is [email protected] if you want to send it there but don't feel obligated how did you do?

Sent. Let me know if it works

I wish I knew how the essay is going to be. I'm more nervous about the essay than the test. I don't feel like an hour is enough time for the essay.

SammiN: Thanks for calculating my scores for me. As for the essay, you should spend a little time thinking about why you went into nursing, and what makes you think you have what it takes to succeed in the profession. I can't think of anything else they would want us to answer that does not pertain to nursing. When the time starts on the proctored essay, you can brainstorm a little, too, as they provide scratch paper. They allow spell check but that's about it. And you're right, the science portion is a total bust. I feel like it wasn't like anything that was in the ati book, almost like a waste of money to me. The math portion was definitely easier like you mentioned.

Thanks. I can't wait for tomorrow to be over with. How long does the essay need to be? I hope we all get in!

The essay cannot be longer than 2 pages. Good luck! Lmk how it goes for you! Btw, they said they will contact us no later than the first week of November if we get accepted or not.

Alright ladies and gents, today sucked!! I have taken TEAS before and did better, I only got a 64% so well ****** not getting in with those scores, how many points get awarded per percentage? Anyone know ?

I now know how to properly calculate the points for the TEAS and the science base portion since I spoke to the person in charge. My advisor gave me the wrong calculation worksheet. To calculate your science base points take your GPA multiply it by 10, divide by 40 and multiply it again by 30. To calculate your TEAS points take your score divide it by 100 and multiply it by 30.
