LVN-BSN National University January 2013 cohort

U.S.A. California

Hello!

I've applied to the LVN to BSN cohort at National University in SD that begins in January 2013. Anyone else there apply, too? I'm currently waiting for an email so I can take the TEAS.

Good night. Good luck on the TEAS Wednesday

Hi SammiN: Thanks! Yes, all my other math and science courses are As, EXCEPT one of the science ones, which was a B+ in lecture, and A- in lab. What would my GPA be?

I think I saw someone ask if math was harder on the real test. I, myself, thought math was much, much easier than the practice exam. The science was a tad bit more difficult for me because for some reason, I was expecting nursing questions like: what's the flow of the heart? Questions like that. Instead, I got questions about condensation, evaporation... more like earth science type stuff. That threw me off.

The generic BSN program in SD accepts 50 per cohort, 4 times a year; therefore, 200 per year. Whereas, in El Segundo (LA), they only have one cohort per year. If I have a fairly good GPA, good essay score, and seeing I did not repeat classes, I am hoping my poor TEAS score won't weigh me down so heavily but I know that's a long shot now. Does anyone know where else I can take the TEAS in the LA area? I'm gona have to go the generic route if the bridge program doesn't accept me.

Let me know what you guys thought of the exam once you take it!

You would have a 3.84 GPA. According to my calculations you have 41.143 points for your science base point.

The science portion of the test was insane. I read in other forums and everyone said he same thing that there was no point to studying science, either you know it or you don't. The ATI book gives you a general overview, but the actual test goes so much further in depth. The math part was a lot easier on the real test. They asked basic things. I had a lot of percentages and mixed fractions questions.

Hey guys, tomorrow is the day!!! Pretty nervous. I can't believe there are 80 applicants, that is insane by my advisor said due to there not being enough applicants they extended the deadline. Also, I'm trying to find where I stand with points and don't understand the calculation process. I know we are all in the same boat and I hope we all get in together!!!!! I want to scream out loud because of the anxiety, hopefully we will all know at the beginning of next month!

I can help you calculate your points if you want. I'm really nervous about the essay. I'm a really bad writer it takes me a week to write a 2 page paper.

I got b anatomy a physio c micro and b biomedical stats, do they count any other math?

Did you get a B in A&P lecture or lab? Was the C the lecture or the lab? They just count biomedical stats.

Anatomy lecture and lab b physiology lecture and lab an a and Micro lecture and lab c

According to the calculation worksheet you have 32.143 points for your science base points.

I think it ends up as a 2.94 which is not good. I gotta vent for a second, I have never been the top student in class but when it comes to practicing and clinical work I am much more comfortable, I am a bad test taker and I feel like my GPA doesnt represent me. I honestly don't feel like I will get in with my grades just as I was unable to get into all the other 8 straight RN programs I applied for. I feel so discouraged and so held back from a career I absolutely love with a passion. IBM sure many others are in the same circumstance and how do you keep from feeling like"no good" when you get denied? I know I'm going to put all effort into tomorrow and hope its good enough and I can join you all in the January cohort by put I can't help but feel like I will be denied( yet again)
