LVN-BSN National University January 2013 cohort

Published

Hello!

I've applied to the LVN to BSN cohort at National University in SD that begins in January 2013. Anyone else there apply, too? I'm currently waiting for an email so I can take the TEAS.

I'll share mine, I only have 62 points prior to the essay so unless I do incredibly well on the essay I don't have a high enough score, and honestly even with a high score on the essay I don't think I will get in, I'm looking for back up plans too. It sucks! Well, I dug my own grave... I have a 2 yr old daughter that makes it hard to focus and study and I did well on all portions of the teas but bombed the science! I wish I would have taken it a few months ago and retaken it to improve the score. It so hard when you want something so bad, for so long, and it's just out of your reach.

Hey also, is there a minimum for the TEAS bc obviously I did very poorly but it says I'm "proficient"...?

I have 71.4 points so far without the essay grade...my buddy has 73.1 points without the essay grade. Hopefully I get 100% on the essay and get 20 points !:)

I have 72.5 points without the essay. I hope we all do well on the essay and get in!

Well, you all have me beat by far! I know 1 friend that is at 74 points and one that is less than mine at 62.... So we have accounted for 6 of the 80 applicants haha!

So there are 75 applicants? On Sep. 28th, they said there were 80. I think I have 69 pr 70 points excluding essay. And they pick 5-10 students for back up after the initial 20 for the cohort, I read.

When I took the test on the 3rd, she said five applicants withdrew their application. The last cohort scores range from 74 points to 85 points.

This is excruciating! each of you who have posted I think have solid points and I'm sure you will get in. Everyone right at 70 is in good shape...i cant help but wonder if there really were that many applicants? And I also can't help to keep kicking myself in the butt for doing so poorly on the darn TEAS... Does anyone else have plans for applying elsewhere?

I have 70.84 points without essay. Looks like a lot of us are pretty close. I think i would feel better if there wasnt 75 applicants. My back-up plan would be applying to every lvn-rn(ADN) program in SD county haha

I am planning on applying to the generic BSN program in El Segundo if I don't make this one. I, too, have dug my own grave by not studying much. I really didn't expect that many applicants. I read that last year they had 40 applicants, and thought that would be the same this year, I guess. I'm so peeved they extended the deadline, too! Here I was scrambling around trying to fit in the last of my prereqs in little time onto my commute and work schedule. Blah! I'm just happy I tried at least, and really hope we all get in, and that more people withdraw their applicantions =)

When adding your points do they consider b+ c+ ect. Or is it a straight B or c?

It's not just a straight letter grade. The scale is: A=4, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3, B-=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2 and C-=1.7. If I don't get in I'm going to apply for the generic BSN. I wonder why they don't have more LVN-BSN cycles.
