LVN Baptist School of Health Professions Spring2012!?

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Just wondering if there are any applicants starting LVN program with Baptist Health System in San Antonio for Spring 2012?!?!

Does anyone know how long this program is?

Hey Ladydeeb! Any news on acceptance into st.phillips?!

Heyy! N o not yet, letters are suppose to go out next week thursday, but i don't think I'm going to do the program because I only need a few prereqs for a bsn program and the bsn program is a year so I'd rather go straight to the bsn. Plus I was going to take out a 15000+ loan for the whole year and I'd rather not have that under my belt lol.

Awesome! Good choice! Which bsn is only one year?!

Thanks! I'll save money in the long run

I got accepted into the program :) I'm considering it now. Ill also be in a monitor tech program so I can get certified and work prn during the year.

Congratulations!! Yeah... I'm going to be taking a couple night classes at sac while in the lvn program. I want to keep working on my core prereqs for the bsn program.. what's a monitor tech?

Oh ok cool, thats where the monitor tech program is at. It's learning to read cardiac monitors for arrhythmia's in the hospital. so you'll be going to the adn or bsn after the lvn?

I wanted adn cause its faster.. but seems bsn is taking over huh? Considering Wayland lvn - bsn.. but who knows what'll happen from now till then.. lol

Wow that monitor tech program is at sac? Anybody can enroll in that? Maybe i'll do that instead of pre-reqs at night. Is it in continuing education?

Yea it's continuing ed, anyone can sign up. I was going to do a cna program but decided the monitor tech is what I want to do, esp since I could do that in the er. I was considering adn over bsn but decided it'll take the same amount of time so might as well do the bsn. I looked into wayland's lvn-bsn because my advisor recommended it. But they have too many prereqs(77) and they require them ALL to be done BEFORE applying, and that's bogus to me. So I'll go to other bsn programs that allow you to have 40 minimum.

Yeah, I saw that it has extra pre-reqs. But a traditional bsn is 2 years. Did your advisor mention how many years the lvn - bsn was at wayland? If its only one then it kind of balances out? What do you think?
