I don't know of any, but I was interested in the program and how it was. Are you accepted into the program?

Yes, I was accepted for Spring 2012. I have no idea how the program is because I've never met anybody in the LVN program, but I hear terrific things about the RN program. If you have any questions that applies toward the application process, I will be more than happy to help :)

Thanks! Yes, there are 3 semesters. It's 1 full year straight through. I know for the LVN program there aren't too many applicants. They continue to accept applications past deadline often :)

you're welcome. Oh wow that's great. Yea I would've chosen that program except I'm not done with my prereqs. I just decided to do nursing and have to wait for the spring semester to do anything. But I found out about St. Philips lvn program and decided why not do it since there are no required prereqs and I could get in and get out. Do you plan on getting your bsn?

I was going to apply for St.Phillips as well, was already filling out the application.. but notice they need hepatitis A series vaccines done as well?? I have B done but not A.. so didn't turn in the app. Yes! I plan on getting BSN some day...! Lol. I need about one more year of core pre-reqs for bsn.. but I need to start working, so I went ahead and applied for lvn :)

Yea, I didn't have Hep A either, but they said if you can provide proof that you're going to get the vaccination they will accept that. I was bummed when I found that out also. It's weird because it seems like they're the only nursing program around that requires Hep A. wow great minds think alike. I am also going for my bsn but figured why not take the year I was going to get my prereqs and go to the lvn program so that when I am doing my prereqs I will have nursing experience and will be earning better money than I am now. I need one year for my prereqs also. I plan on going to uthscsa for my bsn

Yep, thats exactly what I have in mind, work as an lvn while doing prereqs :) And yes, UTHSCSA looks so much more appealing than Incarnate Word for bsn! UIW requires different pre-reqs! Like 6hrs of another language? Weird.. its good but weird.. lol

So I could have still applied for st.Phillips? Wow, I guess I should have asked about it. It is cheaper than Baptist..

Thats good. My mom actually gave me the idea. I always thought of just going straight for the bsn. :specs: Yea you could. That was a pro as to why I chose St Philips. I was also looking at other lvn programs, and yea I considered UIW until I saw you needed such and such amount of community service plus their extra prereqs. lol

I was originally going for ADN. But its taking long, and I need to work now, and eventually I want to get my bsn.. so why get the ADN..?? You know? One thing though, wish I had though of this 10 years ago! Here I am, 27 and barely starting.. married with 3 kids! It's tough.. and I haven't even started nursing school.. lol

oh ok, I understand. The lvn is the fastest route to start working asap, especially if you have no experience. lol hey better late than never. I'm only 20, I could've graduated in 2013 with my bachelors in Business Admin but it wasn't something I wanted to do longterm. I know doing the lvn then to bsn will take two more years than that, but i will be doing something I enjoy. And what makes it worse is that I was a Pre-Pa major my freshman yr in college but was too young to really understand the discipline I would need to have in order to successfully complete my prereqs etc. Now I'm more driven and know what i want. So did you just get accepted? Or have you known for a while? i'm excited to know whether I'm accepted to spc's lvn program or not. I have faith that I will be so I'm overly excited.
