LSU Spring 2018 BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there! Im sure it's alittle early, seeing as the semester's not quite over, but I was wondering if there was anyone else out there applying to LSU SON Spring 2018 traditional BSN? I figured I'd start up a topic so we could have somewhere to network and help each other out. Has anyone else already taken the HESI? Or previously applied? I've already taken the HESI and scored pretty well but I'm so nervous and worried it still won't be enough since LSU is super competitive and this will be my first time applying to any nursing school. Does anyone know what the average scores/GPA that was accepted the past couple of entering classes? Any advice would be super helpful! Thanks!

I found this once after seriously searching through the website (I had some serious time on my hands and was wondering the same thing). "Soph I" is the first semester. I don't know if they had to go to all the times listed or pick between them but here's the link. I'm sure it'll vary next semester but atleast you'll have an idea.

You are awesome! Thank you for that :D

Oh goodness I can't even let myself think of class schedules and stuff because I am trying so hard not to get my hopes up.

So does anybody know exactly what we'll we doing this week? I know it's 30 mins for the essay, typed on Word, and then a tour of the nursing school, correct? Does anybody have any more details?

That's all I know of!!! Has anyone done anything to prepare for the essay?

Other than being nervous and dreading the weeks of waiting to hear back no!

I've been writing papers and speeches for classes almost every week since this semester started. If that doesn't help me I don't know what will.

I know I try not to get ahead of myself but at the same time I like being prepared just incase *fingers crossed!* But as far as I know thats all we do for the essay.

Hi everyone! I have been totally creeping on your guy's thread from Sunny San Diego. I will be applying for the LSU FALL 2018 (please check out the thread, and leave any tips if you got em'), and like I said been stalking your thread. How are things going? You guys are so close and I seriously am anxious for everyone. Just know I appreciate all the posts, it has helped me get in the right mind set, it lets me know who my peers essentially are.... and... and... Yeah, excited for you guys, and looking forward (fingers crossed) to going through all of this at the beginning of the year.

So try to get there like 30-45 minutes before, the start the tours about 30 minutes before

Yeah apparently they do the tour before the essay! I'm glad I got there early. It really wasn't bad though. Everyone is super nice and helpful, and the topic is extremely easy. They definitely just want to see whether or not you can form a competent paragraph.

To everyone who did it today, were you able to write the full 2 pages?! Mine was like a page and a half. I hope that's okay!

Mine was a little over page and a half. I think they just said 2 pages so no one would try to go over. They're already having to read 150-200 of these and I'm sure 2 pages is plenty to see how well we write. But the topic was simple enough to write about. And the tour made me want to be there so much more!! So excited about the cadaver lab!

I know, right? My group didn't actually get to go in, but it still seems really cool. And I'm so happy they gave us a date for when we'll hear back. Now I don't have to stress for the entire next month.
