LSU Care Fall 2019

Published

Hello guys! I wanted to start this thread to see if anyone is applying for the LSU Care Fall 2019 program? Applications are due next month and I am super nervous about submitting, and was wondering if anyone was feeling the same or knew anyone who is currently in the program. :/

Thanks for the information @Shannontoepfer I have yet to apply for FAFSA. Thanks for the heads up

Does anyone know how many people applied and how many people they are accepting?

Forgot to ask that question during the tour.

Unsure the amount ?

No, but the current care student guide mentioned they started with 65 in the class and are down to 40 now during the tour.

Yes, only 23 people graduated at the last graduation.

A friend of mine is graduating in May from the Care program and said majority of his class stayed together

Oh that makes me feel much better! This wait is killing me.

Hi guys, I am applying for next year and I am beginning to look into everything. I was wondering if any of you got in with a C in a biology pre req? I saw it says that a B or better is needed for biology pre reqs and I have a C in one of mine and was wondering it was necessary that I retake it? Thanks!

@ellieryan They are pretty specific in their requirements, I would replace the C as your application would likely get dismissed for not meeting their requirements. You have plenty of time to replace that grade, so that is a plus. You can always contact Stephanie Pierce to review your transcripts. For non-science classes, Stephanie Pierce informed me that a C in one of those classes generally was not competitive, although it is not a disqualifier.

I am a student at LSU currently and if you receive a C sometimes they do not let you retake the course. Do you know if it would still count if I took it at Delgado? I am not sure how all of this works!

Yes, as long as it is an accredited school it is acceptable. I replaced my music appreciation arts elective through Delgado online because Ms. Pierce told me a C was not competitive! Since this program only admits once a year, I decided it was worth not worrying about it and replace it. You should attend one of the open houses too and you can get some good information.

You put in an appeal to retake the class. I had to do that with chemistry at UNO
