LSU BSN Spring 2015

Published

Hi all!

I've recently changed my major to pre-nursing, and am applying for the Spring 2015 semester this August! I've got tons of questions, and also have gathered a lot of research about the program from past forums and current students. This thread, I'm sure, will be helpful in both easing our nerves and providing insight about the upcoming application process! It seems to be different for every semester. I get attacked by my anxiety every time I question if my GPA will suffice! Has anyone started the application process yet (i.e., personal statement, HESI, etc.?)

I wore slacks and a button up both times. And definitely study the mission and core values. Questions like why nursing, who's your greatest support system, how do you deal with diversity, what are 5 great aspects of being a nurse, where do you see yourself in 5 years, and a few more questions I can't remember. There are two students and one teacher in the interview room. Don't feel intimidated or Anything.

also, I did get the email with grammatical errors as well. I called to just clarify with the office of student affairs that it was just a heads up email. She told me to not be discouraged there is more coming

I got an email and scheduled my interview. If you have one for the 8th or 9th, student affairs said to just ignore the following email stating that there will be more interviews. I'm sure it was a generic email sent to all applicants to put their minds to ease... which seems to be failing (haha). No worries! You have nearly two weeks left to still receive your email I imagine! Patience is a virtue! Thanks for the advice on the attire and expectations in the interview! Definitely helpful!

I overthink everything, so would it be inappropriate for us ladies to wear skirts or dresses or is the dress pants a must?

And does anyone else not see the “Traditional BSN Applicant Interview" on their website?

If I were you, I would definitely not wear a skirt. Try to dress like you would if you were going to a job interview.

A pencil skirt that hits at or below the knee is perfectly acceptable for an interview.

I disagree. I have worn a pencil skirt to a couple interviews. Perfectly acceptable. They make suits with pencil skirts. Keep it simple. Black or Gray, white blouse and a cardigan or jacket.
