LS2 Help please!

Nursing Students Excelsior

hi everyone, i have been having trouble studying for ls2.... i am having trouble with the mental health/psych section of it. i feel it's just way too broad... i'm not sure what to focus on and where to put most of my energy. i have all of the books, study guide, and some nclex books but still i feel like i am struggling. should i narrow down on the study materials-?? im hoping to take the practice exam in one week and the second part before my exam. i want to take my exam in two weeks so that i can move on to ls3 and then fcca but i feel stuck... please help!! thank you

The exam I felt was more difficult than LS1 mostly because there were alot of "select all that apply"... But definitely do-able!! I used diff materials to study with but the practice exams def helped and so did doing nclex style questions on the specific topics, with saunders or mosby. Do as many practice questions as you can! Good luck!

I am totally DREADING LS2... taking it next Saturday. Before I even started studying, I took the first practice test and got a 66, which didn't seem too bad. But I am HATING all the psych!! Looking forward to studying the rest of it. Oh NO.......... 'select all that apply'!!!!!!!!!!! Now I am really getting nervous!

Of all the exams I have taken so far, I liked LS1 the best, got my highest 'A'.... this one has me scared!

:arghh:

On the psych part, I am associating each disorder with people I know ... :specs: (Freud) I think that may help me to remember each one better. Do you have the sg101 CD? It's got some pics and stuff that are really good.

Thanks, Chris... I'll try that, too!! I got the instant download, not the CD... I ordered the CD for Transitions, which I am taking last...

Starting to FREAK OUT about LS2! Studying hard for the last few days... just not sure what to expect! It seems that it could be the hardest exam so far.... tomorrow at 1:00 pm is when I take it. Wish me luck!!

Passed LS2 with a B! Thank you sg101 and saunders and all the great tips from allnurses! Good luck Barb - you can do it!!!

Thanks, Chris! I wish I felt more prepared...

WHEW!! Glad that is over!! I thought it was the hardest exam so far... but I was surprised and pleased to get an 'A'! :roflmao: I had 16(!!!) 'select all that apply'!! Flagged more questions than any other exam and took almost the entire 3 hours...

Thinking of myself over the last few days, some of the terms I was studying seemed to apply to ME! Such as: social isolation disorder, obsessive behavior, generalized anxiety disorder, manic phase (caffeine fueled studying in the last hour before the exam!)

Study hard for this one, friends... it is TOUGH!! :)

Barbara - Thats so awesome . I was hoping for an a too but I changed a couple of my answers and I shouldn't have! Note to self...don't change your answer, the first one that pops into your head is usually the correct one....

Thanks, Chris!! There were some answers I was about to change, too... and I remembered a high school teacher who said...'9 times out of 10, the first thought is the right thought'... so I left 'em... there were a couple, though, that I read wrong and did change... I seriously thought LS2 was the hardest so far!!! Before that, it was Health Differences...

When are you taking LS3? I had it set up for 9/27 and changed it to 10/4...

Barbara, GREAT JOB!!! :) Hard work pays off. I am over here giggling because I had the same pre-LS2 freakout (back when it was called Nursing Concepts 5) because sooooo many people failed it and talked about how difficult it was, and I was pleased to pull an A on it. :D I had a feeling you'd do the same thing!!! Tee hee!!!

THANKS, Lisa!! :) I felt more unprepared for this one than any! The subject matter was so broad, and YES.. some of the people talking about it had me worried! I appreciate your kind words!!
