My brother just finished up his LPN school a few months ago, he got hired here in the metro detroit area in MI for $26.50 starting.
I am attending the same school he went to, I am half way done and will be graduating in 9 months I was hoping people in other states could help me guide my search for high-paying LPN cities in different states.
Ok, so I'm completely disgusted! I've been an LPN for 5 years and I make $17/hr then an additional $3/hr for nightshift in a hospital!!! And, I'm the highest paid LPN on my nights... I live 60min north of Atlanta, GA. That's great for you all who are making such high hourly rates...I just wish I was one of you!!
I live in NY, not in the city, but upstate and as far as I know from looking for jobs, that's the going rate in these parts. about 25-26 /hr with differentials up to 35 for overnights.
Where in Upstate NY is that? I graduated and worked in NY and never made that kind of money, maybe I should have moved to where you lived lol
I gather you work at the same company for 5 years? I know the feeling. It sucks because the new hire earns more than you do since current starting rate is higher. Apply at a another facility and I am sure you can get more with your experience.
Actually that's the really sad part...This is my 2nd hospital, and I'm the highest paid LPN!! I've also worked home health. I would LOVE another job, unfortunately I'm a hospital nurse and LPN hospitals jobs are few and far between in GA.

Connecticut has an excellant new grad LPN starting rate. My cousin just took a job with no expierence and benefits $24.75/hr LTC.
My first LPN job was $26.50/hr second shift years ago.
