I started at $18.50 hourly in long term care when I secured my first LVN position in 2006.Nearly 10 years later, the LVN wages in this area are still in the same general range due to the nursing glut (read: there are too many nurses in this metro area and not enough jobs for everyone who would like to work).
mfigueroa22 51 Posts Apr 29, 2014 I'm hoping I get at least $16 giving I work 3rd shift. Right now I'm a CNA but I know my hospital pays $4 shift diff for RN working 3rd shift so hopefully it's something similar for LPN
Dixiecup 659 Posts Apr 29, 2014 I live in rural MO. Not an LPN but I was a ADON at a skilled nursing facility a few years ago. Starting salary with no experience about 15 an hour. But at the hospital medical clinic, Dr office LPN only started at 9 and hour! Crazy!

There seems to be plenty of LVN jobs posted, and lots of facilities who are not posting. My last facility is down 4 nurses and they hire new grads. Those jobs are not posted, for some reason.
