LPN Starting pay in your area?

Published

Hi, I'm a soon to be LPN curious about the average start pay in the field. Please state the area and the facility type please. Thank you.

Specializes in Long term care.

Lpn working in ltc in Oklahoma. 7p to 7a making 19 an hour. That's with shift differential. Congratulation on almost being done! Is a tough program.

Specializes in M/S, LTC, Corrections, PDN & drug rehab.

When I started working 4 years ago I was making $20/hr LTC & PDN, in Texas.

Specializes in Clinical Documentation Specialist, LTC.

In MS. starting pay for LPNs in LTC is $16-$18/hr., in clinics $14-$17/hr., Agency $16-$23/hr.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. I started at $18.50 hourly in long term care when I secured my first LVN position in 2006.

Nearly 10 years later, the LVN wages in this area are still in the same general range due to the nursing glut (read: there are too many nurses in this metro area and not enough jobs for everyone who would like to work).

Northern Virginia $16/$18/hr.

I'm hoping I get at least $16 giving I work 3rd shift. Right now I'm a CNA but I know my hospital pays $4 shift diff for RN working 3rd shift so hopefully it's something similar for LPN

I live in rural MO. Not an LPN but I was a ADON at a skilled nursing facility a few years ago. Starting salary with no experience about 15 an hour. But at the hospital medical clinic, Dr office LPN only started at 9 and hour! Crazy!

May I ask what part of Texas ?

I am located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The other poster from Texas is located in Corpus Christi, according to her profile.

Same pay scale in the Austin area. There seems to be plenty of LVN jobs posted, and lots of facilities who are not posting. My last facility is down 4 nurses and they hire new grads. Those jobs are not posted, for some reason.

Upstate NY--Hospital clinic. $13/hr with no experience
