LPN salary in New York??

Published

Hey everyone! I am planning to start an LPN program in August. After that I plan to immediately go for my ADN through Excelsior. I was just wondering how much you New York LPN's really get paid per hour? (If you don't mind me asking) I just want to know what to expect.

I'm planning to work in Brooklyn (maybe Maimonides ) or Staten Island. But of course, keeping my options open.

Hi all,

I have a job interview tomorrow and they are hiring at 19.00 an hour..I don't know whether or not to take it..do you guys think this is way to low for a new unexperienced LPN grad? help!

It is very low, but if no one else is offering you anthing better, then take it for now and keep looking for a better paying facility.

sorry i dont want to sound stupid but what is per diem??

Per day.

Hey girls, I was wondering, if you went to an Lpn program in another state (NJ) you got certified took boards etc.. but have no experience (recent grad) would places in NYC still hire you? Hopefully I'll get accepted in this LPN program in NJ and I was just wondering because I'm planning to move to Brooklyn, NY after I'm done in August (if I get in)

Specializes in LPN.

I see you got alot of many people already answered your question.

What program are you in? Was the interview for the program quick and painless or intimidating? I have an interview next Friday for Isabella G. Hart school (Rochester General Hospital).

Thanks!

Hi? This is deedeen just wanted to let yuou know it is not worth it for you to go for ADN----- you are better off going for RN LPNs are not even being hired let alone they are starting LPN with only about 16.00, this is really depressing and toytallu unfair. When I was a CNA I made more money than an LPN. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow. this is interesting

I begin my LPN here in NJ in Dec. I graduate in Jan 2013. I will come back to this post once I'm working and let you guys know how much they make in NJ & NY in 2013.

I live in BUFFALO, NY and was thinking about going for LPN at BOCES. I went to Trocaire for Medical Assisting and graduated last year. Had alot of issues there. I heard negative things about the LPN program there and believe it, because the director is the same as my old program. So can anyone please tell me what school you went to if your from around the area and how it was, could you find a job?, pay around here in doctors offices, nursing homes etc., What is your day like? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi cmm4ever i think i talked to you before on this website, i am in the boces lpn program right now. from what i've heard new grads are offered around 18-19/hr.

some cna make more than lpn, i am currently making 20.91 an hr and will get a raise to 21.91 after probation
