  1. I have an interview coming up, and my other post did not receive any responses. Im looking to find out what your day looks like as a research nurse. This job was advertised as nurse for clinical research coordinator (office setting), no other description. I would appreciate your help! I am a LPN who has not worked as a nurse yet (do have medical background though).
  2. October will make a year since I graduated from my LPN program and I still am not working as a LPN it sucks. Anyone else having problems finding jobs? I had a previous Medical Assistant degree and have been working at the same healthcare company for over 3 years. I didnt know (I was mislead) that the clinic I work at would not hire me without experience. I was told by my boss that even if I took a job at one of the nursing homes as a LPN it would not count! I look online everyday. Seems like you have to completely settle on any old job (which Im not making minimum wage now...as a medical assistant but I am only pt) or that you have to know someone. I graduated top of my class etc which means nothing I guess. Im getting more and more depressed everyday and afraid Im gunna suck at nursing by the time I find a job or give up on it!
  3. Also Im just hearing what sounds like in the near future you need your BSN. So im more confused
  4. I graduated in Oct 2013 from LPN school been licensed since Dec 2013. I havent worked as a LPN though yet.Im trying to find out if I decide its what I want to do, the best way to go for RN. Looking for others experiences (local and non local). Also anyone doing Excelsior? I briefly started looking it up...still dont know much about it and it kind of makes me nervous doing it online.
  5. For Erie one Boces? To be honest I remember there being alot of charts even in the English/critical thinking part. It is not what you would expect or can really study for. I didnt do that great in the math but since I did really well in the other part I got in. Just practice basic math. Also converting decimals to fractions and vice versa.
  6. Yes that came up in interview they would have to check that out. To make things even more confusing and complicated. The same assisted living company (different location) posted an ad online hiring full time LPNs. I called up the number and I was told they would leave a note for the manager for me and I tried emailing also. Idk how that would work though.
  7. Just got back a lil bit ago from the Medical Assistant interview. I have to go get my ppd done at the LPN position place in a little bit also (scared they will offer it to me and not know what to say). Unfortunately, it doesnt seem like the Med assistant job will have a decision until maybe mid next week. Oh ya The med Assistant job is like 10-15 mins further but no weekends!
  8. Dont have much time have an interview to go to today in a bit. Ok so I got my med assistant degree in 2010 and I graduated and passed my LPN boards recently. I have been employed at a local hospital (health system) since May 2011 never as med assistant though (nursing assistant/unit clerk/ and now pharmacy). So I havent had much luck in my job search. My ultimate goal would be full time. So I had an interview yesterday for a pt (every other weekend) 2 days week(they didnt have posted what was available) LPN position at an assisted living/memory care facility. I had to go get them a backround check and im supossed to go back today for a ppd/physical (I would think they wouldnt do this for everyone?). So Im afraid they may offer me the job today but I have another interview today for a pt med assistant position in the same system I work in now. I would like to keep my senority and would hope something ft and or an lpn position would open up. I dont know what to do. Im per diem now and Im not sure if I would be able to keep my job now and take the LPN job if offered. I have to work a weekend and one other day a month at my job now. Not sure how many days week the pt med assistant job is yet (Im guessing 2 or 3). LPN pays $17 i believe idk any other details. Med Asst same pay as Im making now $15.09. Not sure what to do or if the LPN job is offered to me today.
  9. Did you take the nclex-rn? Mine is for PN. I know people posted something about pages of a study guide someone posted...not sure if this is it or not. Thanks
  10. Where can I find this study sheet? Thanks and congrats! Just scheduled mine today for Dec 16th!
  11. I live in West Seneca,NY near Buffalo. How long did it take you to get your authorization to test? Its been 6 weeks this Friday and nothing. The NYS BON says we have been set with them since Oct 16th (I graduated Oct 10th and the school says they sent the stuff out with the check Oct 11th)but Pearson is posting we didnt pay. Pearson can never find us in the system and cant tell us anything without the check number that my school wont give me. Im fed up and my school keeps on giving lines of bs and changing there stories. I have been trying to find out what the heck is going on. I keep hearing it that this is crazy we should have it by now!
  12. According to the school it doesnt seem to of been cashed. Idk they told me different stories on different occassions. The school wrote one large check to cover all the students fees along with our paperwork that was sent in Oct 11th. It was our money just part of the tuition. I have no access to the status of anything because I do not have the check info and the lady at school was nasty and wouldnt give it to me (even though that was student money).
  13. So my school says they mailed out our stuff with one big check Oct 11th 5 weeks ago and I still havent got an att! I called the BON,pearson, and my school a few times each. BON said when I called about 2 weeks ago that I was all set with them that Pearson isnt posting our payment was made. I call Pearson they ask a bunch of questions ,(everytime they cant find me or my classmates in system) and then they always ask for the check number, when it was sent etc. Obviously I do not have that info because the school sent the check out. I called my school again today and they arent helpful...I was told that it was "unecessary" to be given the check number even though that was OUR money! Also it seems like the lady at the school changed her story since the last time I talked to her a few weeks ago. Im getting beyond aggravated and feel helpless. WHEN DID YOU GET YOUR ATT?
  14. So you passed? Congrats! By the way what state are you from? It is taking forever to get the att. The NY state says im all set but its Pearson saying it isnt showing we payed yet and when I call they cant even find me ugh! Any tips for what to focus on?
  15. The school sent everything out October 11th to BON and pearson. We made an account with Pearson in September and the money was sent out to them also Oct 11th. I called my BON a few days ago and they said they have everything they need and Im good on their end but Pearson is saying they cant pull up my account or that I payed. Seems like if its processing thats really long. Supposedly the secretary from my school says she spoke with Pearson the week before this past week and we are being told to be patient... I just dont know...even she said usually the students would have them already.
