  1. I agree with your husband! Doesn’t sound like it will get any better. You have plenty of experience I’m sure you won’t have trouble finding another job. Good luck!
  2. Yes add a cover letter! And customize it to the facility you are applying to. Don’t send a generic cover. Instead stand out. Good luck!
  3. Stony Brook University Hospital is hiring a ton of new grads all over the hospital and float pool because of Covid. They have a great nurse residency. Apply to unit positions and float pools! I was having a hard time getting hired in the NYC and Nassau county area myself and I got a position at Stony Brook. The commute is a little far for me but it’s worth it. good luck!
  4. I’m wondering the same thing! What units did you apply to?
  5. It took six days from the day I took the NCLEX for my license to post. Then the following week I received the license in the mail. Good luck!
  6. Because of Covid, for nursing licensing they want you to email them If you have questions or to get the status of your app instead of calling 6 weeks after you submitted your application. It took 7 weeks for me to get my ATT and I went to an out of state school. I emailed them at 6 weeks and they emailed me back a week later with an ATT. Good luck!
  7. Nice! Fingers crossed for you too! Hopefully I hear something soon ?
  8. Hi! That’s great that you had a video interview yesterday! When did they contact you? I checked the emails and nothing yet. I really hope I get an interview. I went to nursing school out of state and I am still waiting on my ATT from NY. Hopefully this doesn’t affect my chances. Have you taken the NCLEX yet and do you have prior experience? Thanks for responding!
  9. I applied to Northwell’s Critical Care and ED nurse fellowship for Northshore, LIJ, and Cohens back in February when it was posted. My Application status hasn’t changed from “application received”. Has anyone had any change in status with their application?
  10. Did anyone apply to the Spring 2020 New Graduate posting? I did but nothing has changed on my application status. It just says successfully submitted. Any luck? I wonder if this will be delayed because of Covid?
  11. Have you gotten your ATT? If so,when did you get it after NYS received your transcripts ? Due to everything going on with Covid-19 NYS allowed my school out of state to email my transcripts. Has Anyone done the same? How long do you think this will take? I wonder if they are backed up due to Covid-19.
  12. My personal experience.. I record all my lectures and listen to them. My school is supportive of this and they encourage us to record them. I am also a visual learner so it helps me to re-listen and rewrite my notes or if I’m driving I just visualize what I had written down on my power point slides. The professors lecture a lot about what will be on an exam. Pretty much if they burn calories writing something on the board or talk about something for a while you need to know that! And listening to the lecture again will emphasize that. It’s helped me I hope this helps you! Best wishes
  13. It depends on the area of where you live. In my area, most new grad residencies require a min of 3.5 gpa to apply. It's an over saturated area so it's their way to weed people out.
  14. Microsoft Surface Pro has been the best for me. I transfer all the power points to onenote and take hand written notes on the screen using the surface pen. It's amazing! I even record the lecture and when I listen to it later I can click on any note and the lecture will play from the exact time I wrote the note. It's been the best investment I've made for school!
  15. I think that everyone that applied will get some sort of email wether acceptance to move on in the process or a denial. So because you haven't heard anything yet, it's still good news. They probably aren't done with notifying people. They did send an email back in December saying that everyone will be notified by 2/12, so just be patient :) I'm sure you will get good news.
