LPN salary in New York??

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey everyone! I am planning to start an LPN program in August. After that I plan to immediately go for my ADN through Excelsior. I was just wondering how much you New York LPN's really get paid per hour? (If you don't mind me asking) I just want to know what to expect.

I'm planning to work in Brooklyn (maybe Maimonides ) or Staten Island. But of course, keeping my options open.

hi cmm4ever i think i talked to you before on this website, i am in the boces lpn program right now. from what i've heard new grads are offered around 18-19/hr.

Im not sure if we talked before. Im really GLAD to talk to someone who goes there! Sorry if I ask alot lol. Did you just start the program at boces? Im trying to figure things out with transportation and would have to see about work if I get accepted and decide to go. Anyways its confusing, maybe things changed..someone I kinda know went to boces 2 years ago and they had day classes at Potter location. Now from what it sounded like, the lady said that in April day classes would be at Niagara Lutheran, and in October day classes at Southtowns campus? Im not even sure where they are. Also a while back someone said day classes for April were full, then called other day they said something about another location and that I might be able to get in. Then called yesterday because I had questions about entrance exam and then lady told me its full and theres a waiting list for days in April?! Are you in days or nights? How many spots are there? Do you know how waiting list works? Is it first come first serve gets in if anybody does, or does it go by grades, interview? Im hoping I can get stuff figured out and would be nice if I could start in April! Dont want to waste more time. How is the program good? hard? Do you or people in your class work? Also the entrance exam what should I expect? I was thinking about taking it Wednesday if I can make it there. How long do you have to wait and find out how you did and for interview etc? Its weird bc as far as I know theres not an application to tell them what term you want to start. Thanks!!!!! Anything else that may be helpful? ?

Im sorry havent been on for a while (my computer was down also). Can you give me an idea how the program is ? Classes/clinicals etc. How much extra does it cost for uniforms books etc? Do you happen to know where classes will be for April or October? Im not sure if correct, someone told me a while back April day classes will be at Niagara Lutheran and October days at Hamburg location? Maybe nights only at Potter which stinks? I just found out after a month of waiting that I passed the entrance exam, and they want me to interview next week. They said my grades were great. What is the interview all about? What do they ask? Im really stressed, becasue Im not sure how I can make this work with my job (not very flexible) and getting a car on road or something. Im not sure what to do :(
