LPN to RN schools online???

I was wondering if anyone who use to be an LPN went back to school for their RN degree online?? If so, can you tell me a little about your experience, was it hard, how long did it take and if you graduated how is working as a RN now (since you didn't originally go to an RN school)??

I didn't do the online course, I chose to go back to a classroom, but just today I was talking to a nurse who is doing an online program and just found out that she will not be able to work in illinois as an RN for 15 months after she completes the course. Also she has to find a hospital that will allow her to do clinicals. So I guess check your specific state to see if there are any rules that have to be met. Nursing school is hard enough without having to jump through hoops to actually do what it is you've worked so hard for. Good luck:wink2:

I've wanted to do the same thing but too used to traditional school to know if it would work for me

i know of nurses who did the combination, they took classes on line that would be accepted by the school that they were intending to go to and this helped with the bridge

hope you find some answers

Hi, I'm in Colorado and did the University of Phoenix program, which was mostly online but also some classroom time(usually on Sat and occasional evenings). They set up all clinicals. I wouldn't have been able to go to school if it weren't for the online as I have a family and work full time. I haven't had any trouble getting a job here. Good luck to you!!:heartbeat
