Lpn renewal licensed

Published

Hello everyone

I moved my question from LPN/LVN Corner to General Nursing Discussion because I am very desperate for an answer, can anyone help me please.

I have a very important question about my LPN licensed renewal, I took my NClex exam in January 5, 2009, I received my licensed about 5 days after, my licensed will be expired on July 31, 2009, that's mean I only have my licensed for only six months, by the way I am living in Port St Lucie, FL. I still can't find a job yet, everybody doesn't seems to give a chance to a new graduate. My question is what will happen to my LPN licensed if I don't find a job prior to the expiration date? Do I will need to go back to school and take the NClex again? Will the board will renew my licensed for me if I don't work for the six months period. Please help me, because I am pretty scared.:banghead:

You wont lose your license just because you dont have a job. Just dont let your license expire. Lots of folks keep their license current even if they arent working.

Have you contacted your BON yet? They will have all the answers you need.

Hi there!

I am currently a license LPN in FL.No you do not have to take your NYCLEX test agian.Once you pass that you just need to renew every 2 yrs.For renewal you just have to be up to date with your CEUs and pay a fee.No test of any kind. Please dont worry. It is very easy to renew and I do it online every time. You can visit here for more help-

If paid work is a requirement for license renewal, you would have to find this out from your Board. In my state the only requirement is to do one's 30 CEUs each period and pay the renewal fee. The first renewal after graduating from nursing school is a freebie as far as CEU's go. When you get your renewal notice, see if you need the CEU's, if you don't, then just follow the instructions and send them your check and you'll get your new license. Do it as soon as you get the notice.

Thank you very much everybody, I was so scared that I will have to go bck to school and take the NClex again, for the license that the board chose to give to me for only six months, after spending so much times and money. I have no problem to go back to school but to upgrade my education not to do the same thing all over again.

Thank you again!
