Nursing Students LPN-RN

Anyone else out there feel like it's almost impossible to get from an LVN to RN in California? I've been trying for 2 years and its about the hardest thing ever. Any thoughts? I'm in San Diego by the way...

Yeah its tough, IMO be willing to move. When my husband and I decided I should start looking outside my area I got in. Apply everywhere you are willing to move too. I moved from norcal to socal for my program.

Yes, I'm looking at Excelsior for that reason. I know I can't get a CA license, but I can get another license and work in the VA or Federal Prisons in CA until I can permanently relocate in 5-10 years.

That's exactly my next move...If I knew it would be this difficult, I would've went straight RN. One would think it would be easier to step up after some LVN experience to the RN. If you don't mind....may I ask what school you got accepted into in So Cal?

Are you trying to go LPN to BSN or LPN to ADN?

I did my LPN in LA. I know that most of my class were able to find local ADN programs. I moved to get in to a LPN to BSN program.

Im willing to take either one ADN or BSN. Maybe its more impacted here in san diego. Thanks for the response.

The one I'm applying to rarely fills, but I'm up north, and I'm rural, nobody wants to come here haha.
