Hi everyone I am a new member here. But I also have a question. I want to register for my LPN classes and I wanted to know what prerequisities classes I have to take in order to register for the LPN classes?

Check with the program you want to apply for.Prerequisites can vary.

Like the previous poster said, check with your program. I had to take beginning chemistry & biology (both with labs), anatomy & physiology I & II (w/labs), nutrition, psychology, as well as basic math and english (which I transferred in from a previous degree). I also have to take a CNA course before I start. Some programs require more, some less. It's best to check with your school--most have websites that will tell you everything you need.

My LPN program did not require pre-reqs. However, you had to be a CNA and pass the TEAS test with a 75% or better in order to be admitted. I agree with the above posters concerning entrance requirements: check with the school(s) that you want to attend.

That sounds like the school I went to, but we also had to have micro w/lab, algebra, and sociolgy. Like the others stated, check w/ the school you plan to apply to. Good luck!

I'm also in agreement with the above posters. I'm about half-way through my program and they didn't require prereqs, but I had to pass the TEAS test with a certain score (I can't remember) and then I had a "meet and greet" with the Asst. DON, and then had to write a full page essay (on the spot, without warning) about why I wanted to be a nurse. It seems every program has their own requirements.

Good Luck! :)

Call the school where the LPN classes are offered and ask the nursing department about the prerequisites that you will be needing. They are the ones who know, without a doubt, the answer to your question.

Personally, I had attended a private for-profit LVN/LPN program that did not require any prerequisite classes. Some schools have mandated that you complete prerequisite classes and others have not, which is why it is so very important that you contact the LPN program that you wish to attend. Good luck to you!
