How long did it take you to find a job after graduating?

It took four months. . .I'll explain further.
I completed an LVN program in the greater Los Angeles area in October 2005 and relocated to Texas approximately six weeks later. I took the NCLEX-PN for the California BVNPT on December 28th, received my passing result in the mail on January 9, 2006 and was issued an LVN license on January 20th.
After receiving a California LVN license number, I immediately applied for licensure by endorsement through the Texas BON and was issued a temporary Texas LVN license in early February 2006. I found my first LVN job one day after the temporary license arrived in the mail.
So, the time from graduation to first job was approximately four months.

Graduated June 27th, passed my boards & got licensed July 30th. Had a job interview August 28th, then I had a second interview and last Thursday, September 12th they made me an offer. So a couple of months in all. And my job is not in LTC, I am in a surgical clinic through a local hospital. I officially start in October since I had to give my notice to my current job.

My class had 30 students- well, 25 graduated anyway. Some has jobs lined up before pinning, and maybe 3 don't have jobs yet. A handful of us just lined up jobs in the past couple of weeks. I got hired on at a nursing home where 6 other fellow students are, but I'm also waiting to hear if I get a second interview at a docs office I'd RATHER work at, and waiting for USA.jobs to post a listing for a PN at the local VA which is my dream job!

I graduated August 2nd. I interviewed for one job a couple weeks prior and they said they wouldn't let me know until the end of September. Haven't heard from them as of yet. It's ok tho because about a week after graduation I interviewed at one of the local school districts and they offered me a position that will be opening in December. They wanted me at a different school but since I didn't have my license yet they couldn't let me start. No biggie tho. Took the NCLEX-PN on Sept 13...passed...and am dropping off paperwork tomorrow to start subbing so that I get some experience before I start full time in December. I'm really excited and feel extremely blessed. Just keep your eyes open for open positions around you and apply. Be professional in how you present yourself at all times. Practice answering interview questions. You can find a lot of them on here. Jobs are out there. Sometimes you just have to be patient and look in places you never considered before...you never know what you might find or end up liking. Good luck!!
