I am working full time as an lpn and want to join a bridge program to earn my bsn degree. Is anybody in an lpn to bsn program? I was looking into indiana state university or university of phoenix. Which is better? And is the College Network a scam or not? I have heard both good and bad reviews about it. Does anybody know of any grants I can apply for also? I have so many student loans already and it would be great to lower the cost. If anybody has any feedback at all please help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The college network is not a college. It is a very expensive publishing company that is not affiliated with any college of university. Don't waste your money on it. University of Phoenix is very expensive and I would stay clear of any for profit university as they are more concerned about getting your money that your education. Check with your local state university for a more resonable program in terms of price.

I am doing the LPN-BSN program at UoPx and so far I like it. Many of my instructors are graduates of their program. College Network is not a college. There are tons of grants and scholarships out there. Also look into your local universities and ask about the Perkins Loan. UoP doesn't do the Perkins Loan, but some 4 year universities do. If you want to know more, PM me and I'll help answer your questions.

Your local school's are the cheapest route, they're only harder to get into. I'm doing a bridge program at National University and have to say the quality of education isn't the best, nor is the price, but it's wicked fast. zero to hero in 15months.
Yep, local schools are EXTREMELY hard to get into. If you have a 4.0 GPA you may not get in. And many are steering away from waitlists (not all) and going to a lottery system.
All nursing school's in CA are on a point/lottery system now. The wait list went down the drain in 2010, right when I was applying. B/c the state was funding the public school systems they decided to change it to a point system as school's were apparently pumping out unsuccessful students simply because they were on a list. Either way, both systems suck. Now you really better have awesome grades or else you will not be picked. Basically everyone is thrown into a pot and the school chooses the students w/ the most points. The point system has been used by several Universities, SDSU to name one, but now they all do it in CA.

If you want to do the Indiana State program you HAVE to go through The College Network. It's not a scam. Indiana State will refer you to The College Network for their prereq classes and some modules. Indiana State is the only "Out of State" program that is approved by the California Boards.
I would encourage the OP to google "College Network Scam" and read what others have said about it. I was on the website of Indiana State University and no where did it say you had to purchase the insanely expensive study guides that the College Network sells for very high prices when you could get the same thing much cheaper from a second hand book store. This does not make sense. The College Network is NOT a college. They do NOT teach classes or grant credit. They will sell you extremely expensive study guides and make you sign on the dotted line that they certainly will be getting your MONEY which they care about most of all. Many many other unhappy former customers say that the College Network is a huge scam and after doing my own research about it I conclude that is clearly is.
Indiana State University DegreeLink Program: Nursing (LPN/LVN to BS): Courses This page tells you about purchasing the Modules from The College Network.
And here is one of the several links about the College Network being a scam:
The College Network Complaints, Reviews - Fraud and cheating
I wouldn't put it past these sales people to post here and to pretend to be LPNs and advertise their product to the unsuspecting person who wants to further their education.
Thanks for the feedback guys, but I got the feeling I shouldnt trust the college network because once they have your phone number they call u constantly. I do not trust anything that chases me, if it has to do with my education I should be the one on top of them. Especially with how expensive it is. Its just so hard to work fulltime and go to a local school even though that would be my number one choice. I live in New Jersey in Hudson county and there are hardly schools around here that offer that program on campus. I appreciate any advice though, thanks again.
