LPN then bridge RN.. repeating the same clinicals?

Published

Im currently accepted to a LPN program starting next fall, and if I go I would then like to do a RN bridge. Im also applying for an ADN program that also starts in the fall.

My questions is...would I basically be repeating some of the same clinicals if i bridge or are the clinicals more in depth in the RN program??? ..

the LPN curriculum

Fundamentals of Nursing I-III

IV therapy

Med surg

intro to med administration

maternity nursing

pediatric nursing

mental health and mental illness

gerontology

Bridge to RN courses last 2 semesters

OB

Pediatrics

mental health

acute and extended healthcare issues

i am currently in an lpn program at my local community college. they have an lpn program at one campus location, and an adn at another campus location. this same college has an lpn-adn bridge as well. *just to give you some background on what type of school i am at*

we were informed that the lpn-adn clinicals were more in depth than our lpn clinicals.

thanks for the response!

the lpn program im accepted to is a private school, and then I would bridge over to a CC for my last 2 semester.

I guess it wouldnt be soo bad to repeat OB/Peds since it would be more in depth..those are the two I am most looking forward too anyways.

make sure your local cc accepts the private school for the bridge, my school, and many other cc's, do not. definitely call and ask, just in case.

Yeah they accept them, in my area as long as you have a current LPN license and can pass the examinations given by the CC's then they will consider your application.
