Loyola Chicago ABSN Fall 2018

Published

Hi guys,

I recently just got accepted to Loyolas' Chicagos ABSN program. The on campus (not hybrid option). I saw a few threads about former cohorts for this program, but none for fall 2018. I was just wondering if anyone else has been accepted and what they think of the program. I'd be moving from New Jersey.

Has one visited the campus yet? Any other thoughts, etc

@econtoRN when I got accepted in the end of December my advisor told me to submit my deposit by mid January! Hope this helps!

@Iceranic it does thank you! Just trying to get a feel for deadlines to see when spots might start opening up since waitlist decisions are rolling. I'm so anxious to hear back, so I'm trying to be optimistic that will happen sooner rather than in April-May.

Hi all- Loyola ABSN appears to have updated their website and it now indicates that there is a deposit deadline that is within 30 days for accepted student. This should keep things moving for those on the waitlist.

That's great! Are you on the waitlist as well @PH2RN?

@econtoRN - I received my acceptance in November and submitted my deposit in January. I wouldn't give up hope as folks will change their mind or decline and those on the waiting list will get their opportunity.

Hey yall! I was accepted into the hybrid program in November, but I have not yet paid my deposit. I am waiting to hear back from a few other schools before making my final decision. Can anyone help me out though? I would be moving from Arkansas and I am not familiar with the area at all. I have been looking into neighborhoods and close towns for housing, but does anyone know if there are school cites to search for roommates?

@mrgadbur8 I'm not sure if there is any sort of school website to search for roommates, but I know there is a Facebook group for the hybrid cohort, so you might try searching for it. Then you could join and connect with other hybrid students looking for a roommate.

I just got accepted into the Hybrid Program today. It does say I have 30 days to confirm my spot. Also for people looking for housing, I know that there is a Loyola "Free and For Sale" facebook page where students often post looking for roommates and such.

I was accepted a few days ago into the Hybrid Program for Fall18. Still debating, as I'd be relocating from out of state and was really hoping to live close to city center...not sure that I want to make the 50min drive into Downers Grove when needed. That being said, Loyola is such a great name to have on your resume vs lesser known ABSN programs in city center. Anyone else on the fence with the hybrid?

For people looking for roommates: There are a number of "Chicago Roommates" Facebook groups out there that have 10+ posts a day - Chicago Sublets, Chicago Housing, Loyola University Housing etc. You can type these into your fb search bar and just join the groups. These aren't necessarily student or medical based and people post for places throughout the city.

@premedtobsn did you ever make a decision about the hybrid? Interested to hear your thoughts on the program.

Was accepted to the Hybrid program for Fall 2018. I submitted my app on 1/20 but last rec letter didn't come in until Tuesday and was notified within 48 hours of acceptance. Still waiting to hear from NYU and GW but will probably go for Loyola. Good luck to anyone still waiting!
