Loyola Chicago ABSN Fall 2018

Hi guys,

I recently just got accepted to Loyolas' Chicagos ABSN program. The on campus (not hybrid option). I saw a few threads about former cohorts for this program, but none for fall 2018. I was just wondering if anyone else has been accepted and what they think of the program. I'd be moving from New Jersey.

Has one visited the campus yet? Any other thoughts, etc

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you find another school! It's so hard when you're trying to make a decision and you get put in a position to be on a wait list until the last minute.

Sorry for the double post, but I have officially made the decision to remain on the waitlist for the face to face. I really want the in class experience, and just didn't feel comfortable doing 75% of my program online. I'm optimistic that spots will open when people start making final decisions about schools, and I'm hopeful the list isn't very long since some people switched to hybrid and they've stopped accepting applications for fall 2018 onsite.

I just switched to the hybrid program because I wanted to start in the fall and the waitlist for the face-to-face seemed like too much of a gamble...

@Glesh, you said that there is now a waitlist for the hybrid program too???

I would reach out to your advisor to double check, but I don't believe the hybrid program is currently full. My suspicion is they are starting to be a little more stringent with who they accept, due to the demand for fall 2018/the on site cohort already being full.

Oh okay, thanks. I talked to the advisor today to switch my application over to the hybrid program and she did not mention that it was full. But then I read that comment that someone was waitlisted and it scared me... But I am sure that the advisor would have mentioned if it was full.

No problem. I definitely think your advisor would have mentioned it if the program was full. My experience with the advisors has been pretty transparent so far. My advisor called me before my application had even been reviewed to let me know the on site program was full, so I don't think they would hide that from you. Hopefully you don't run into any problems and get accepted to the hybrid program soon!

Ya I got waitlisted for the hybrid. I feel like they have so many people applying this year.

Yeah from what I can tell they have way more applicants than usual. On older threads it seems people were still getting accepted to the on site in February/March, but this year it was full way earlier. I'm still optimistic a spot will open up. The waiting is just going to be killer.

I'm sorry so many people are getting waitlisted already! I hope you guys hear back soon! I was accepted into the hybrid program a couple weeks ago and I created a group since there wasn't one yet. Feel free to join so we can help each other out.

For those who were accepted for the on site cohort, is there a specific date you have to pay your deposit/commit by?
