Hello Everyone..

I googled and found out that the lowest tuition charges per credit hour for ASN/ADN ( for international students ) is $225 which Crouse School for Nursing, Syracuse is offering. Uh..I was wondering if anybody has come across another one which charges less for international students..?

Helpppp...

That sounds like a bargain to me. I hope you find it to be a good school if you decide to go there.

Hai.

Not a bargain at all because that was only the tuition for nursing courses per credit hour. I will have to take the liberal arts courses (28 credit hours) which is $429 for non-New York State residents. :(

Are you only looking for schools in New York? The CC I attend in Omaha lists 12 credit hours for international students costs about $750.

Other things you need to consider are wait lists and GPA. There are 5 international students in my class of 30 but everyone who was accepted has a GPA of 4.0 in their prereq classes. But there is no waiting list.

Education in America is not cheap. It is a business enterprise just like any other. The rate you quoted for credit hour is way less than what most of the educational institutions charge per credit hour. And you are not necessarily guaranteed to get what you pay for. Some educational programs leave a lot to be desired. Just a warning to anyone considering coming to the US for an education.

It's not cheap but there are deals to be had, if you are a resident that is. My school is only 20.00/credit hour.

You're right about in state tuition rates. All students who pay out of state tuition get proportionately higher school bills. That is why it pays to find out the residency requirements and establish residency prior to enrolling. Difficult to do, I suppose, for foreign residents.

In my school (LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, NY) each credit is $190 for international students.

As a former international student, I can guarantee you that you are getting at bargain at 225/429.

As a new resident I now pay in-state tuition.

You are paying the highest rate, because the government does want to subsidize education for residents. The tuition that you pay is more or less a more real amount that it costs to provide you with education. It is still subsidize and if you ask me, a bargain.

Hi there,

thanks for your reply. I am not looking at any state in particular. All i am looking for is a college in any state with a decent cost of living and which charges less tuition and fees for international students. What is your college name?

Hi there,

Yes, I am aware of the fact that Education in America is not cheap. Your note has got me thinking if i should contemplate US as a study destination after all the dollars that I am going to spend on it. :uhoh21:
