Lower Columbia College Fall 2018

Has anyone else here applied to the Lower Columbia College traditional RN cohort for fall/winter 2018? I want to connect with other applicants/hopefuls!

I am taking my TEAS test on July 25th. This will be a retake for me. Last year I took the TEAS test and did not study (big mistake). My composite score came out to 70%, passing all sections for LCC except for reading, missed the mark by 3%. Also, I have 84 grade weighted admission points. Does anyone know how the TEAS test plays into the admission score? I applied to Centralia College as well, but they only use the TEAS as a tie breaker.

Feel free to post any questions, concerns, or information about the program here.

Hi - I took my test a couple weeks ago. I got a 78.7 on my TEAS and have 72 admission points. This was my second time taking it as well (73.4 last July)and was really hoping for a higher score this time.

How did you do on your TEAS test?

Hey Pinky!,

I got an 84.7% on my TEAS and have 83 grade awarded admission points. I am wondering when the letters will go out, I am anxious and thinking about calling lol

Yeah, I recounted and thought I had 84 when I don't lol oops, I have 83! AH!

*Just an edit from above

Those are both great numbers! I was really hoping to get low to mid 80's on my TEAS but it just didn't happen. Did you have healthcare experience? I don't and I think by not having them is really going to reduce my chances of getting in this time. If I don't get in (which I'm not holding my breath for) I've been looking into Sumner. It's more expensive but I'm tired of waiting.

I called Bev earlier in the week for something else and she said she thought they would go out the second week of August. Last year people new by the end of the second full week so I'm thinking we will should know by the end of the week of the 13th.

No, I don't have the required hours in the required time limit for healthcare experience. My score is just from grades. I don't think it will reduce your chances, I think you have a pretty good shot, honestly. When I called Bev she told me for winter and spring the lowest score that was accepted was 53 points and the highest was 83 or 84 (I think, somewhere around there). So, yeah every year varies but if you throw 7 points on top of that, 60 points is still well below what you have.

Oh awesome! Let me know when you get your letter and I will do the same! Did you apply anywhere else? I applied to Grays Harbor and Centralia. I got into both schools but I really want to go to LCC.

I only applied to LCC. I live in Vancouver and while Clark is closer, unless you have almost A's you're not getting in.

Winter/Spring scores give me a little hope. I guess for now I'll just cross my fingers and hope make it. Shoot, I'd even settle for wait list for winter quarter!

Hi everyone,

I took my teas for the first time and got an 80.7.

I did not have the best grades. I have a 3.0. I am a CNA and have been for a long time so I got the health care points. Does anyone know how they add the teas score to your original points? I am so hoping I got in. I studied very hard for this teas for 6 months!

I am not sure how the TEAS score plays into the admission points. I couldn't find the info anywhere in the information packet. I was wondering the same thing!

I got my acceptance letter for Lower Columbia College nursing program! I was accepted into the Winter 2019 cohort! Did you all get letters yet?

Congratulations - That's so awesome!!

Was winter 2019 your first choice?

I'm in Vancouver... I wonder if I will have an answer today?

I don't get off until 8 :-( The stress of waiting to check the mail is killing me?
