Lower Columbia College Fall 2018

Published

Has anyone else here applied to the Lower Columbia College traditional RN cohort for fall/winter 2018? I want to connect with other applicants/hopefuls!

I am taking my TEAS test on July 25th. This will be a retake for me. Last year I took the TEAS test and did not study (big mistake). My composite score came out to 70%, passing all sections for LCC except for reading, missed the mark by 3%. Also, I have 84 grade weighted admission points. Does anyone know how the TEAS test plays into the admission score? I applied to Centralia College as well, but they only use the TEAS as a tie breaker.

Feel free to post any questions, concerns, or information about the program here.

Hi everyone, I reapplied for lcc for fall. I retook the teas and got an 78. I was hoping for more, but it did not happen. I retook one class because my advisor advised me not to retake more due to financial aid issues. Is anyone still trying to get in? I have heard this cohort was not as numerous, and may be easier to get in. I have 142 total points right now.

I feel competitive and we have a similar score. A 78 is good! Keep your head up and if we don’t succeed, apply for winter when scores are lower. I had 2 classes that weren’t scored yet last winter and only missed acceptance by 4 points. Fall has a higher acceptance standard. Don’t get down. Stay positive! I’m in the same boat here. CNA for 6 years. Grown *** adult with a family and mortgage. Never thought going into the nursing field would be so competitive. Eventually you’ll be making great money doing what you love.

Yep! I applied for fall last summer and got put in the winter quarter cohort. Quite a few of my classmates got denied for fall acceptance and reapplied for winter and got in! Just keep at it and don't ever give up! The year prior I applied to Centralia and got denied acceptance. Took that next year retaking classes and taking additional classes to apply at other colleges as well. Finally when it was all said and done I got into all the schools I applied to. Best of luck to all of you!!
