What is going on? I have looked through many messages, and quite a lot of you are areguing about who is more qualified than the other! You seemed to have forgotten why you entered nursing in the first place. Is it any wonder that us british refer to the Americans as loud mouthed and brash?
Yours sincerely
a loud mouthed Scot
Lora....What a HORRIBLE disposition you have! GROW UP kiddo & mind your manners. Apparently, you're still wet behind the ears.Once you've been around the block abit-you'll know what we're talking about.
By the way, I'm married to a Scots & believe me...you all aren't SOFT-SPOKEN people either.
Hardly worth mentioning really Lora, but I didn't actually refer to you as a RN. If you read the reply properly, you will see I called myself an English RN. You do seem to have a very defensive attitude (forgive me if I'm wrong), but you need to temper this a bit before you qualify. There is nothing wrong with being assertive, but you come across as aggressive. You won't get far with your colleagues or the general public with an attitude like that. I don't think it's fair to brand a whole nation as rude and brash as you did? Have you ever been to America? If not, then I suggest you do and then make your judgement. Lighten up dear.
What makes you think men do better? Your view is very narrow-minded. Surely the idea of this bulletin board is so that people can sound off about things. Maybe women just make their point better. Everyone has a right to say what they like. Before I was a nurse I worked in an office and witnessed the most infantile behaviour from men who were cutting each other's throats to get to the top. Some days it felt like working in a kindergarden. So don't be too sanctimonious. Men can be just as bitchy!!!

YOU GO, GIRL!!!
OK to everybody involved in this little escapade of a thread.
1st........lets not change this topic into something else (i.e. the male vs female issue). That was lame mito, I work in the US and am male, and know female nurses more competent than some physicians, and the same for males. The funny thing is mito, just like Lora you assume (i.e. all posts releted to trashing are from females).
2nd - The Topic loud mouth Americans is what brought me in here, to see why we are such? Yet there was nothing, nadda no base for this topic, therefore clearly showing Lora's intelligance level. Cutting back down on her is not going to help, every reply by her has clearly been rude and obnoxious.
3rd - The only way to deal with Lora, is to not further reply to this topic/thread.....and let it fall to the bottom, unless she wishes to converse with herself. For me this is my last post/reply to a Lora topic.......I'm out

Well now, where do I begin? First of all I am proud to be American and have a tendency to be brash and sassy. If I don't stand up for myself who will....As nurses aren't we supposed to stand up for those who cannnot do it themselves?....Secondly I as a fellow Nursing Student get really annoyed at the way I have been/can be treated by veteran RNs...however I quickly remind myself that these folks have alot of knowledge and experience to offer that you cannot learn in the classroom and that they are not always trying to be mean, just helpful. It always makes me feel great when I can show them that I do know what I am doing and that I do have some well developed skills and that I just need that experience to apply them.....Lastly....To each their own and lighten up....
either susy k is going soft or im going nuts! huh maybe both !!haha i finally agree with what she had to say !! lora there was no ill-intent there.
as for mito i dont think he ment to be a goober, just maybe trying to be funny , not male vs female..
lora you had another post that i responded to, i think i like that person better!! take heed from the advice several gave you!! learn to hold your tongue, and temper...
i am also curious have you ever been to america ???? well just my 2 cents !

I would like to say that in reading the post from nurs4kids I didn't see anything that should have made Lora reply in such a defensive manner.....not to mention such a rude manner. If it had been me she was talking to like that I would be very upset....it still bothers me, but after this post I am sure I will get spoken to in the same manner, oh well. The way you present yourself is very important as well as paying attention....I think you jumped the gun with your reply(lora) and had you read it again you might have seen what the rest of us did...good luck in school.
