  1. Wow...I am a Nursing Student...Haven't ran in to anything that has made me lose it yet...When I was about 7 I walked in on my stepmother who was in the bathroom...Cleaning her glass eye...I screamed and started to cry, hysterically...She quickly tried to calm me and explain what she was doing...Wasn't long before I was begging to clean it for her...By the way what is c-diff?
  2. Well now, where do I begin? First of all I am proud to be American and have a tendency to be brash and sassy. If I don't stand up for myself who will....As nurses aren't we supposed to stand up for those who cannnot do it themselves?....Secondly I as a fellow Nursing Student get really annoyed at the way I have been/can be treated by veteran RNs...however I quickly remind myself that these folks have alot of knowledge and experience to offer that you cannot learn in the classroom and that they are not always trying to be mean, just helpful. It always makes me feel great when I can show them that I do know what I am doing and that I do have some well developed skills and that I just need that experience to apply them.....Lastly....To each their own and lighten up....
  3. I think just about all of you have hit this right on the nose.....One more quick grain of sand recomendation....At my clinical site, if our instructor is busy and we need to do a procedure or give a med our primary nurse is allowed to witness..sign us off on it...observe us..etc..if she is willing....If my instructor is busy and I need to do this I go to my Primary Nurse and ask her to verify or witness...that way I get the things done without waiting and a liscensed nursed watched my actions and signed the charts to back me up....Has saved me alot of time and I actually got a compliment from an instructor for doing it...
  4. I guess that we would all agree that there is no longer such a thing as "traditional student". Most in my LifeSpan class are late 20s....I think that the oldest is 45 and the youngest 18.....Most of us are divorced/single moms with kids.....We have 3 men in our class too.....Luck to all
