Lost my $200.00

Hi Everyone, some of you may know that a I was supposed to take my NCLEX on Jan 14 th Valentine Day. I got at the testing center in Manhattan NY 1 hour before my test time. Hang my coat up and ready to check in...I presented my ID my PassPort... and it all goes down hill from there. I was told that my name on my PassPort was not matching what on the registration. He said any other ID and I showed him my Permit and he said Pearson don't accept Drivers Permit. I Have a hyphenated last name and my Pass Port only have my name but not my marriage name. The shocker came when he told me to go get my marriage license in Brooklyn and be back at the testing center in the City by 2:30 or 2:45pm. Well, if any you live in New York and have to take the subway system to add the weather situation you know that is not happening. Anyway, I said thank you to the Mister and ran out of there like my life depends on it. Back to the subway to get my train to Brooklyn. I wanted to scream out in the train but I didn't want any on think I was derange and call the cops. Lol. (This is N.Y.) Long story short. I got back to the testing center at 3:10 pm and was told No! they can't allow me to take the exam because the exam is six hours and if the allow me to sit the exam I may finish around 9 or after 9 pm and NCLEX will kill him. I said ok, thank you. Disappointed. I left. Took the elevator and went down stairs. I went back to the testing center center and pleaded with the guy to please let me take the exam and maybe I will finish in time before they close at 8pm. He continue to say no. It was worth a try. I lost my $200.00 and it was all my fault. I always walk with everything yet I forget my marriage certificate to verify my marriage name. Thank takeaway my friend to walk with your proper ID. Sorry for the long post. (I had to Vent) At the end my hubby met me in the City for Valentine and we had a nice dinner. Lol.

Pearson Vue have me as "No Show" for my status. Can you imagine?

Sorry to hear your story. Same thing happened to me but mine was with my first name. They didn't even give me the option of going to get anything for verification. They just told me that I would not be able to take the test and to go and re register. That's how I lost my first $200 and they wrote "no show" on my status too. I had to re register and got another ATT with the name on my driver's license and now I'm glad all those are behind me. Proudly an RN!!! Good luck to you.

Sucks you lost your money, but you seem to have taken it with a good attitude. Good luck on your next attempt!

That sucks

Thank you everyone. You know, it was a hard pill to swallow but as my Hubby said, It is only money, I still have my sound mind and God knows best.

Have you rescheduled yet? Good luck!!!

Sorry to hear that. But you have to shake it off and keep going :)

Good luck.
