Called the place that I got my certification from 2+ years ago and they do not have a copy??? They were an approved AHA place....Can i call AHA and get it through them? Otherwise, from what I understand I have to pay the full amount as if I was taking it for the first time if I can not provide them with a previous card?? It's like 40-50 dollars more....Any suggestions would be appreciated...Thanks Wendy:redbeathe

They don't have record of you taking the class? I'd call again and try to talk to someone else. I lost my BLS card and the place I got it through was easily able to reprint it for me for a $10 fee- I just had to provide the date of the class and my name and they could look me up.
I was thinking the same thing.....what kind of place does not keep records for only 2 years ago? Can I call AHA..they should have it yes?

PALS is only good for 2 years. If you took the course over 2 years ago and it's expired, wouldn't you have to take the initial class over again anyway?

That's what I was wondering.

Yes, exactly, if you got the card 2 years ago because that is when you took the course...then it's expired and therefore no good to you anyway! You need to take the entire course again. I have been PALS certified since 1994 and have had to renew every 2 years...

As your card has expired, you will need to repeat the course. AHA does not keep copies of training records, that is the responsibility of the training center that issued your card, fyi.
it is not expired yet and it costs less to recertify than it does to start all over again...its like 40 dollar difference...sooo frustrated!! .
Thank you to all that responded... It is expired I believe tomorrow...
