Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017

Published

Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

What?! What do you mean no go? They don't told you you didn't get in?!

Yes, man. That's how the cookie crumbles.I was expecting this. Not to sound like a pessimist. I'll be real......I only have about fifty points. But I meet all BRN minimum requirements lol!

Oh man I'm so sorry :( best of luck to you about PCC. And if that doesn't work out then maybe consider retaking classes to boost up your points

Yea same here. I called this am and they asked for my information, put me on hold, and returned with the news that I wasn't accepted, and the cut off was a 76. I'm still positive about my future as an RN. I'm waiting to hear from PCC as well, and just maybe I'll try El Camino, it's just so hard to get into their two must have prerequisites at their school only.

My points were in the 70's just points away from the 76 cutoff.

She told me almost everyone who was accepted had at least 1 B and 1 A in the three sciences.

I spoke to someone very important at Pasadena City College and she told me pretty much the same thing (tho they're still reviewing apps). She said to look into an LVN program. I think I might check it out. Gotta get it done way or another.

The women forsure told you 76?

I called and spoke to someone today and asked if it was possible to get a status update. It's a no go for me. Good luck to the rest of y'all. Keeping my chin up for now. PCC is my last hope and Hail Mary. For this round. I kind of knew in the back of my mind that this would happen. I mean come on....I'm asking to sit with a group of students who have worked much harder than me. Until next time, friends.

I don't understand... What do you mean?

Hi there, have you ever consider applying for LATTC? They have a year wait list. I am on their wait list and will be in the program in the fall 2018. I'm still hoping to get accepted by County though so I can start this fall instead.

Meaning I'm not getting a bite of the tamale. Wishing the best for you all; still.

Do they allow a certain number of repeats for gr sciences? Or is the higher grade counted irregardless of a repeat like County?

Repeat Rule is my problem too, I repeated 2 classes like 7 or 8 years ago... with some schools they fall off after 5-7 years like El Camino, and others like SMC are SET on the no one than 1 repeat. I have 1 A in anatomy and a B in physio and micro. Completed an AA at SMC so all my general eds are completed, I'm a CNA, an MA, I work for LA County, but I only scored a 70 on the TEAS. I actually went to an info session at LATTC and though no repeat rule is printed ANYWHERE in the brochure, the info session host stated I can't repeat no more than one course.
