Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017

Published

Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

Best of luck to you applicants and future nurses. My classmates and I are looking forward in meeting the final 50 selected applicants . As semester 1 going to 2 , I can assure you guys will have so much fun! It is not easy. But you will find out if this is what you love . Idk how county informs people , I remember they had given us a date by when we should be getting a response of admittance or rejection, the said December Everything happens so fast. So you get an idea . We were informed about our acceptance the week of thanksgiving . By January 9th we were starting the program so we didn't get that much time in between . I think new semester starts in august . So maybe you may be finding out if you were accepted mid June , or end of may .

so its only 50? im kinda of confused bc i saw another post from another student and they said more than 50

Thank you very much for the information :). I think I'll pitch a tent in front of my mailbox.

Keep in mind they also have other students that didn't pass previous semesters incorporated to your class . We had I believe 3 or 4 repeating students . I think we were like 53 in total with them . Or 50 I can't remember . But they count too .

They will let you know by email. Even though they say they don't . That's how we were informed . The letter comes with an attachment email. And it tells you congrats .. you have been accepted. Please inform us if you will be attending by orientation day. :). So keep checking your email constantly and junk mail too

oh!!! i saw you from last semester's thread!! you had 74 pts right? im just so nervous bc 76 points isnt much.. but my grades are good. i know county isnt by lottery but im sure soo many other have better grades and what not. how do they really choose? i know its not by random selection either

First they look at your bio courses. And second are your general ed. Then TEAS. I believe bio. Courses are the deal breaker . Let's say someone has more points than you like 80 and has completed all science core classes and general ed and you have 76 because you are missing maybe humanities and sociology but you have good grades in your bio core sciences you are a strong applicant even if you fall short below 80 .

oh okay! that makes me feel a little better. i have an A in micro and physio and a B in anat.

I think you are a very good candidate . Don't loose hope regardless of what people say or brag about their grades . I had 74 points . My teas was 69% and I am still missing my PE , sociology and humanities ! I have to complete those before graduation . But I think my saving grace was my GPA in the core BIO classes. You are going for generic or lvn bridge program ?

im going for the 2 year rn! i got a 69% on the teas as well! im not the best test taker but passing for county was all i wanted. ive finished all of the gen ed classes (mainly A's and B's) no C's at all.

You guys give me positive hope and happy feelings. I scored a 69 on my TEASE the first time I took it as well. Did pretty good percentile wise in the scenices. Remaining hopeful and happy. I called today and the admissions clerk was nice enough to say that we would find out our status (letter) towards the beginning of June or end of may (ADN program); but then I'm reading what y'all are saying....haha. Ok, just stalking my inbox over here. Good luck on finals everyone. Crunch time.

Apparently emails have been sent out last Friday
