  1. August 14th I believe. I am excited as well! Keep ordering unnecessary things from Amazon lol.
  2. I went with the Littman classic III in burgundy from Amazon. I have an older one from my EMT days that worked very well but have since been retired. I'd imagine a standard sized bp cuff would be sufficient to start with. I also purchased a Whitcoat nursing edition clipboard from Amazon. Simple and sleek design that folds nicely.
  3. I'm going through Amazon for some and uniform will likely be purchased on Friday. I am pretty excited to meet those of you who will be attending this Friday. Feels like we've had a head start in getting to know one another lol.
  4. Give it a little more time. Based on previous application periods, acceptance letters continued to go out as the days went on.
  5. Just woke up to my acceptance email!! I am so incredibly happy! I hope everyone else hears back soon as well. Good luck everyone!
  6. Haven't received anything either. Scared now.
  7. Thank you very much for the information :). I think I'll pitch a tent in front of my mailbox.
  8. Okay, let's stay on subject please. Please post updates if you get any. Questions pertaining to this nursing program and application period are more than welcome. Dr2bScience thank you for starting this thread brother, but your recent posts are not helpful at all. Please stop provoking people. Anyways, good luck everyone. Any day now í ½í¸
  9. Congratulations brother! Incredibly happy for you.
  10. AYYYYEEE PCC! :) You're absolutely correct. Many of my previous professors also taught at universities. They lecture here and there at local community colleges simply because they enjoy teaching. Ratemyprofessors.com is pretty on point when searching for a great professor. I'm sure your friend enjoyed the Anatomy class as well then :). I took him over the summer so it was pretty intense. It felt like i was in shock and overwhelmed the entire time, but in a good way... if that makes sense lol.
  11. What is with all the community college bashing? I took all my prerequisites at PCC and the professors were great. My Anatomy professor is a chiropractor with his own practice. The man's knowledge of the human body is beyond impressive. He took pride in his work and held his class to a higher standard. His lectures were very in depth and the exams were incredibly thorough. My physiology and microbiology professors were also outstanding. As a college student, you take away what you put into your education. YOU choose your own class schedule. YOU choose your professors, and there are resources which can guide you towards a great professor. For the science portion of the Teas, I watched some YouTube review videos and looked at some of my old notes. I took the Teas at County the morning after a 12 hr night shift and scored 85. Needless to say, coffee saved the day. My point is that I felt very comfortable with my core science education that I took the exam with no sleep and didn't find it difficult at all. Community college can be wonderful if you are willing to put in the work and choose to optimize your schedule. I believe community college can be a great option for many. I would hate for anyone on here to read these posts for guidance and be misinformed.
  12. thanks brother. We all worked hard to get here. It will all be worth it.
  13. I know exactly how you feel. My life is basically on hold right now pending the decision. If anyone hears something, please share lol.
  14. for the science portion, I watched all crash course's videos on anatomy and physiology. They are all available on YouTube. I learned how to balance a chem equation by watching Khan's examples. Also on YouTube. That is about it... the crash course videos are about 10 minutes long. I watched a few a day for a couple of weeks. I scored 85 on the science portion, so it's definitely doable. I'm sure I could have scored higher if I spent some time reviewing my notes from previous semesters. Good luck :)
  15. That is great news! Thank you for mentioning that. I had to work full time while taking prerequisites. It was definitely tough, but I managed A's in Anatomy and Physiology and a B in micro. Got A's in all the other prerequisites but they were much easier in comparison. If I get accepted, I plan on picking up books like nursing pharmacology earlier in order to ease the course a little. May is around the corner but the suspense is killing me :)
