Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

Hey! Thank you for replying back. Could you share your weekly schedule? Like what days and times did you have lectures and what days did you have Clinicals? Good luck to you!

Monday u have lecture from 7am to 12pm after that u need to go to the hospital and choose ur pt or ur instructor will choose them for u and u need to do ur research and do ur clinical worksheet which does take a long time so I will advise not to work Mondays . Tuesday's and Wednesdays u have clinical from 7am to 130 and nd on Thursdays u have lecture from 130 to 330

Ok, wow!!! It looks like Mondays are a hectic day! Thank you so much for answering my question. I never went to the info sessions because I found out about this school after they already had them. This seems like a great school.

Yes u do i had a 74 or 76 and I got in :)

i have some hope now lol. I have a 3.6 in my science courses and a 3.1 overall. do they choose only 50 students or choose as many as they can?

That's the reason I don't want to attend a community college nursing program....

I'm afraid of rock-bottom standards...I'm afraid of being turned into a weak and pitiful student. How I can I meet an employers conditions in such an inferior academic environment? They don't even care about grammar. That's not gonna fly.

You know, I was reading the entire thread first before commenting.

Yea, your comment really did grind my ears. I really didn't appreciate it.

Hi Dr2bScience,

For your information, I found this while doing my research on LA County before applying to the program years ago. LA County Nursing Program is in fact a public community college. I would suggest taking a step back and re-evaluating why you want to go to the LA County Nursing Program. A lot of information could be found on their website. I have taken classes at community colleges, and have had wonderful professors. Click the website below so you could see the successful pass rate with some of these community colleges. I agree with others who have commented about some people who just aren't great test takers. Your score on a test does not determine how great of a student or nurse you are. It is who you are, your personality and compassion towards caring for others. You shouldn't worry about grammar, believe me I made it through nursing school and they did not care about grammar. I have my MSN now, and worked with so many nurses who went to community colleges. Try not to judge others for going to community colleges, because I am sure you have been cared for by a great nurse who attended a community college.

Also, another word of advice. Nursing schools like to come on to allnurses to see what their students are posting, so be careful what you post.

Good luck everyone!

It wasn't until now that I read the entire thread. Although I tend to not post frequently, I do lurk.

Enough about how many point and such. At this point you are only causing more stress over yourself. I didn't even count the points I got. All I remember I got a 3.5 gpa and just grateful I got my associate's degree so I wouldn't be going to high school to get my old transcripts. Too much of a hassle.

I did saw in the website they notice you VIA US MAIL if you are rejected/accepted. But now I'm doubting myself cause i can't find it where I found that statement. Can someone verify?

I'm sorry it hurt your ears but it is the truth: America's Millennials: Well educated but unskilled - CBS News

And honestly, I really don't care if they read this forum. Freedom of speech is a constitutional right and my opinion has nothing to do with the admission process, I could sue for that and become a millionaire. 30 bucks to file the case with the clerk downtown. Tell them to read that.

Anyway, I see my opinion is really hurting peoples feelings, lol, so I'll keep quiet. Good luck to everyone!

Freedom of Speech can only get you so far until it affects your networking of people, reputation, etc.

LOL @ CBS.

I just want to make it clear you HAVE APPLIED to a community college. Yet, you are downgrading the college. That's what I can't wrap my head around.

If you are accepted, please come with open arms with an open mind.

G'luck everyone.

They will choose more than 50 because alot of students will hold for next semester or will choose other programs ... and county is one of the last to make a decision so alot of people choose other programs that accept them first

Hello again everyone! Got an update. I received my MAILED ACCEPTANCE LETTER today-5/8/17. Registration is 5/13/17. Let me know if you guys get any updates.

Thank you! Very exciting indeed considering County was my one and only school that I was going to apply to! I applied for the LVN to RN option 1.
