Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017

Published

Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

Hey! I'm glad I found this thread! I applied to La county but I still haven't heard anything. I also applied to GCC, Pierce and Valley and haven't heard anything from them either. The wait is killing me!! I saw someone on here that posted they went to la county. How was the program? I know they're all hard and there is no one easier than another. I live near the olive view clinical site so I hope I can go to county. I also wanted to know if anyone knows the schedule? Like how many days we're at school and how many days we're at clinicals? I hope I get in for the fall. I want to start working already!! TIA

Hi! Could you share your experience at La county? What do you recommend someone do before they start the program? Anything would be helpful! TIA

Hi guys! I'm sorry I'm kind of falling behind on this thread. As some of you know, I am graduating as an LVN on May 18th. Right now we are busy with organizing our graduation, getting our livescans, prepping for exit exam, and submitting paperwork to the board on time so we can get our authorization to test as soon as possible. Okay, so I don't have much time, but would like to address some of the questions I read so far. First, the wait, I read in other threads that it is common for county to take longer than usual to respond to every single one who applies. This is just a hypothesis of how it works: First, they pick their top choices. From there, they give it some time to hear back from them. As they start to get the responses, they know how many spots are taken or rejected. When they get a rejection, they start to notify the people in the waiting list. So, if you are one of the first ones to be notified, good! If you aren't, don't give up just yet, there's still a chance that they will call you.

Someone was asking about a school to do an accelerated MA program, my current school has it. I believe it's 12 weeks that you can easily do in the Summer and I think they are about to start a new session. So, call this number: (562) 217-4210. The name of the school is Downey Adult School and it is located in Downey, CA. They do offer financial aid.

LGnurse19: If you ask me what was the most difficult subject I had in my LVN program, I'd have to say Pharmacology. It's a lot of memorizing! So, if you are looking to prepare for the RN program, do that, start studying Pharmacology now. Dedicate the whole Summer to it, and you should be set for Pharmacology. One less thing to stress about when you are already in the program.

Okay guys, gotta go for now. Thank you to everyone who took the time to wish us all good vibes, and thank you to the current students who are taking the time out of their busy schedules to share their experiences with us; your input is very much appreciated.

Yeah, when we meet on the other side, let's study together! Only 11 more days till we're past the worst of it all.
