Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

Is it possible to work full time and do well in nursing school?

Highly unrecommended, though possible. Part time you can definitely swing.

Yeah, I think you're right

For those of us who are waiting to hear about the generic program: I just talked to the person in charge at the college. She says we will be notified anytime from the middle to the end of May. They got close to 300 applications from where 50 will be picked out. I asked about the average application points, and she says she did not have that information at this time. She says they are focusing on the LVN-RN applicants right now... and the wait continues.

300 applications for the generic program?..those are really bad odds.... During the teas, the lady said 150 apps...Not gonna get my hopes up.

Roughly ~17% chance of getting in. It's probably more like 20% because some applications are incomplete. Those odds aren't bad at all.

She used these exact words: CLOSE TO THREE HUNDRED. That's just a guesstimate. I wouldn't get discouraged by that. Like imtoonice said: Some applications have been turned in incomplete. You know those will not be considered. Also, some people apply even though they do not fulfill all the requirements. Don't get discouraged. We still have a good chance.

I thought there were only 150 applications..That's what I heard the lady say... Oh well. That's life.

I think you and I took the TEAS at the same time: Friday, March 24, 2017. I vaguely remember the lady saying there were 150 applications. What I don't remember is if she said that was the number for the generic, or the bridge program.

Lol yeah!!! That was the day!!!!! Lol what a coincidence..Yeah me neither...I just remember her saying that 50 generic apps will get in and 20 for the bridge

Oh wait...I took the teas March 4...But yeah the lady did say that

She said 50 generic applicants will get in + 20 or so since not all of them will attend and 20 for the bridge..

I really give up and don't have any hope if there are 300 applicants.

At least the Dean is a sista (she knows the struggle!!)...I hope that helps!! Lol jk
