Any one here graduates of the program? Or are in the program?
So is everybody trying for the LVN to RN on pins and needles now it's April? I know it's mid to late April for us, but just being in the right month means I'll be checking the mail relentlessly until I know if I'm in or not. I did really well on the TEAS, but still not pleased with my overall points. Really should have pushed for As in all 3 sciences, but hindsight is 20/20.
Stelon,
Yes, I am dying now that it is April!!! I keep hoping that maybe they will send letters out a little early. The mailman gets to my apartment complex around the same time I get home from work everyday, and I am already stalking him.
I was really hoping to to get a better score on the TEAS, but there is nothing I can do about it now. I was so so close to getting those 5 bonus points for the TEAS Oh well. I think I still have a really good chance of getting in. I can't wait to find out!
I applied to the generic ADN so I have even longer to find out if I got in or not! I just hate this uncertainty. I can't make any plans or commitments until I find out either way. My boss wants me to go to China for a few weeks later this year and I'm kind of sitting on my hands unsure if I'll be in school or still working.
I'm sure everyone is facing uncertainty in making plans. Hopefully the time will fly by...though I doubt it!
Did you submit your FAFSA?
I think county has one of the more stable school schedules so at least you'll know what days you have school and clinicals. Try to work it out with your employer if you can't quit your job. Maybe they'll allow you to work different hours or days.
I think you're going into the LVN program, right? So that's a year? I know it'll be tough to be without a job but really think about how you can slash your expenses and if anyone in your family can help you. You might even get enough help through financial aid to at least keep you stable. It's a big sacrifice but if you can figure out a way to get through it, I hope you go to school!
I know for me it's going to be difficult too but right now I don't know how much longer I can wait to become an RN. I've put off getting married and having kids to finish school and I'm getting older. So it's now or never. Or it feels that way.
Willowita,
I know what you mean. I am also waiting until I get my RN license to get married and have kids. I have been with my boyfriend for 5 years and we have been talking about it a lot lately. I have been working so hard towards this for the last few years. I am sooo ready to get my RN license and start my life!
Lovetosleep,
I'm right there with you! It's been 4 years for me and my bf. We're so ready to get married but both of us are still students and it seems unstable to get married without our careers in place.
I just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. I wish you luck! Hope you get in this fall so you can start your life :)
Willowita,
I hope you get in this year too! It sounds like we are in similar situations. My bf is in school so he can change careers too. Although the wait is killing me, it will be worth it in the end. I just have to keep remind myself that it will be so much easier for us to start a family after everyone is done with school and settled in.
Good luck with everything! We are determined, I'm sure it will happen for us :redbeathe
