This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!
How's everyone coming along with getting everything done? I've ordered all of the required books except one. I've ordered my stethoscope, shoes, malpractice insurance and I've done the required online form that has to be completely before getting livescan. Still have a ways to go, but I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing... It's been so quiet here :)
Hi smyleeRN2b,I have done the online portion and scheduled my live scan for Thursday July 3rd. When is your appointment for live scan?
I have yet to order my books but should be getting on this tomorrow.
I thought that they would notify us to take the livescan? How did you schedule yours? I haven't been schedule as of yet and honesty, I'm not sure how I go about scheduling it, since I thought they were supposed to notify us to schedule it.
Just in case anyone had a question about the health clearance form, I called the school today regarding the tb section and was told by the health office that the tb test needs to be done twice even if the first one was negative. Did I miss this at pre-orientation?
I didn't hear that either.
The last required book that I need is only $33. So, I'm very happy with the cost this far. $680, Is this the total for the entire 4 years? If so, then that's not bad.
No that was just the ati books not including the books we needed for the classes. I never got a book list but got a cost breakdown
I wish they gave us a checklist so that we dont miss anything but I guess we will figure it out as we go. Basically call -------------- tomorrow and let her know that you finished the HR form online, she will then check it and give you the phone # live scan services to schedule a date and time. When I called live scan services I asked for the first date available and they said next Thursday.

Yup.. The baby boomers are retiring plus I'm sure there's always people getting hired or looking for jobs at other places (ucla for instance pays 10500 monthly for an ER nurse and doesn't ask for BSN)
