This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!
Wow, Excited, you r super fast, how long did it take to finish all requirements for u, like a week?))
Well, the day after we received our acceptance emails, we had 3 folders posted to our blackboard accounts. Folder 1 was stuff that was due on the day of orientation which was held 4/25. Folder 2 items are due 5/29. So I was able to start reading about what was due and when and plan according the day after acceptance emails which was 4/16. Took a lot of coordinating between physicals, immunizations, tb testing, drug testing, cpr card, fire card, background screen and purchasing malpractice insurance. I'm sure I failed to mention a few items as it was a lot. But nonetheless, I got everything in and received confirmation that they have everything from me. It took two weeks with some strategic planning. LOL. I work full time right now.
Have you heard back from any of your other colleges? If I recall, you were hoping for valley but won't know for like 2 more months?
Im good! Finished all my requirements in time. VERY long list but its done. Yay!Yes, first day starts fall semester 8/26.
How are you doing?!
Wow, that is awesome! It sounds like COC is extremely organized, that makes things for the students so much easier and less frustrating.
I'm doing well, just waiting to hear from County since this is the only school I applied to. They are very slow, I am sure they lose a lot of students because of that. I wonder if they even care I really don't understand why they have such a slow process. All I can do is wait. I refuse to call them and even ask when they plan on sending out notifications, because they will say, "in the next week or two" when they really mean in the next 4 weeks or so
Until then, I will be checking in with everyone on AN. Our day will come eventually
Hang in there! I am sure they do care very much. I wish they could have at least handled everything via email. That would sure speed things up!!!I will let you know if i hear anything or if I receive anything from them in the mail.
Thank you, please let me know. You will probably be one of the first to be notified since you had a good amount of points.
Yeah, 90. But I worry about "technical" things like " we don't have your transcripts" or " your high school diploma evaluated by wrong agency" ( I finished high school not in US). I called to verify twice, first time they had everything, second time they didn't see some transcript which they saw the day before))). I'm just freaking out too much)))
