Published

This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!

I, too am applying for Fall 2014 semester. I am just finishing my last prereq, which is microbiology. I can't wait to apply and hopefully get in :-). I will apply in January, after I'm back from my vacation. Let's all hope for the best.

P.S. I will attend their January 10 info session

Hi enzyme! I will be attending the December 14th info session and submitting my application same day, if possible. I was going to submit it last week, but decided to wait until I attended the info session.

Goodluck to you guys! I didnt get in for Spring 2014 at the county so I will be going to Pasadena College.

Oh, great! Keep us posted about what happened at the info session :-). I can't attend the December one because my grades for micro class won't be posted until after mid December, and I'm also going on a vacation, (finally) after this semester ends. I'll go to their January session. Do you think you can submit the application with all the supporting documents in person when you attend the info session, or you would have to mail it? Hopefully, we will get in :-).

Thanks jofapcastillo! The most important thing is that you got in somewhere, so big congrats for that. I hear that Pasadena college is a very good college. I'll apply to LACC, LAVC and the County. I hope I'll get in somewhere. Good luck to you, too!

I think that I can only submit my application, because the transcripts have to be official and come directly from the schools. Can't wait to go to the info session, so that I can finally submit my app. How are you doing in micro? I really enjoyed it!

I'm praying to get in. Will you be applying to any other schools? I'm only applying to county, it's the only school that I want to attend.

I am doing great in micro, my gpa is 4.0; hopefully, I'll do ok on the teas :-). I am a little tired of these prereqs, I just can't wait to start nursing, no matter how hard it will get.. I will apply to LACC, that is where I took all my prereqs, and LAVC. My school of choice would be either County or LACC because they have that collaborative transfer program with Cal State. I want to get my bsn asap :). Did you already order your transcripts to be sent to County, or will you be doing that after the info session?

You have a great GPA! My gpa for the prereqs required to submit my app is 3.8, I got a B in anatomy. It was a 5 1/2 week very difficult class for me. I was so tired of the prereqs! Although, once we are in nursing school we'll probably be wishing to just have prereqs...lol :) I too, plan on doing the collaborative track. Do you plan on attending csula? That's where I want to go. I ultimately want to get my msn and become an ANP. I ordered transcripts from just one of my schools, but since they were taking so long to put the application up, I decided to hold off on ordering my other 2 transcripts. I will order them probably the week of December 16th after I submit my application.

Your GPA is great as well, congrats on all the hard work. I know people that got into nursing program with GPA lower than 3.5. I think you should apply to LACC as well since they too have that collaborative transfer program with Cal State, and they are much, much cheaper than County. And yes, I plan on transferring to CSULA. Hey, maybe we'll be together in both ADN and BSN program :-). That would be great. I know that nursing will be hard, but I won't be missing these prereqs. Nursing is what I want to do so I will make sure to work hard to get where I want to get :-). I also have another bachelor degree, but now switching professions :-). Let us know how your info session goes. Good Luck!

Thank you! It was definitely hard work, especially with 3 kids :). I looked into other community colleges, and according to CSULA's website, there are several schools that offer the collaborative track. I might consider other options. I just REALLY want to attend county. Right now I work for a government agency and I would prefer to attend a school ran by a government entity, because I want to stay a government employee-- hopefully get hired on with the county. Not to mention, I love how historic LACCONAH's program is! How long have you worked in your other profession? This would be my first degree, although I am an older student, which is the reason I want to go the Collaborative track route. That would be awesome if we could both be in the same ADN and BSN programs .
