Los Angeles County College of Nursing LVN-RN 2016

Hello!

I will be applying for the Los Angeles County College of Nursing LVN-RN bridge program for summer 2016. I was wondering if there was anyone else applying for this program? Also, if any graduates from this program recommend the LVN-RN or generic route? I have 3.5 years of LVN experience. Thanks! I looks forward to the replies!

I also thought it was just me. I was beginning to have thoughts like, did I not bubble the correct ATI ID, etc.. i'm going to give the office a call tomorrow morning!

Haha! I was having the exact same thoughts. Let me know what they say when you call, I've been checking & still, no results yet.

Hey all, I am a graduate of the LVN-RN program. I graduated last May.

OP, I think with your experience you should be able to do the LVN-RN instead of the generic route. I didn't have any experience as an LVN but I made it!

You guys shouldn't worry too much about the skills checklist. Study it, practice it in the skills lab over and over and always ask for help as soon as you think you need it! If you have the drive and motivation you can do it. I'm not gonna lie, it got overwhelming at times, especially in third semester but you can get through it and the staff are always more than willing to help you. Good luck!

P.S. Get used to having a delay in notification for pretty much anything... they run on county time! ;)

Thanks for the info, that's really helpful. I've been worried about the skills checklist, that's if I get into the program of course.

Hoping to keep this thread going, cause the wait is killing me. How is everyone holding up? We should find out in a couple of weeks if we get into the LVN-RN bridge program. I haven't had clinical hands-on for years, yikes. I was a stay at home mom and just got back to work last year as a case manager in a home health agency.

I can't wait to hear something. Is the skills checkoff done at the beginning or end of the summer term?

If it's at the beginning, then I'll find a skills refresher course around.

I'm stalking this site, hoping someone posts an update. If you get that call or any info, let us know please.

May is coming up pretty fast!!! I ended up applying for the bridge program. Do they give you points only based off of micro and physio?

When I took the TEAS on 3/18 at county, they said we would know by mid-April if we got in or not. I guess it was pushed back cause I just spoke with Erica and she said LVN-RN bridge applicants will be informed by end of April.

Jen30 - points are given based on several things (TEAS, Micro, A&P, English, Psych, Socio, Humanities, History, Speech, experience, county employee, prior eligible applicant, veteran status).

Maybe I'm a bit confused... I saw points only for physio and micro on the bridge program application. I actually submitted my application for the 2yr ADN program but was called last week about the bridge program. I have been in hospice since 2007 and I'm on the edge about the bridge. I just pulled out my Nclex book and will be going over the material so I'm prepared just in case I'm chosen!!!! So anxious to find out!!!!

I got an email to call about my application, now I'm worried that I did something wrong.

An email? Did you call?

"Please call me about your application to the LVN-RN program."

I saw the email after office hours; I'll call tomorrow morning at 8am. I'm so worried, I can't even study for my stats exam tomorrow.
