Hello! I decided to open up this new thread for those applying for Spring 2014 entry at LA County College of Nursing. I recently took my TEAS for the first time, and I'm so relieved that it is over! Now the wait... A bit nervous about the whole process, but I am very hopeful. Anyway, just wondering who else out there has applied!

@slicksGIRL It all depends on what is more important to you - finances or time? I agree with @smyleeRN2b that you should apply for the LVN bridge program instead so that can finish in about a year and it would be less than MSMC.

@Theone40 congrats on also being selected! Well if you don't already have your heart set on one particular school, I would choose based on what's most convenient for you. I'm not too familiar with LATTC, so I can't really voice my opinion in that regard. But if LATTC is closer or has a more convenient schedule, then choosing LATTC would be your best bet, especially if you've already invested in their fees. Also, consider how far each school is from your home (and/or work), and how much traffic you will be in each day.

Perhaps you should attend County's pre-registration and "feel it out" before you make your final decision. If you can comfortably see yourself being in one particular program over the other, then choose that school (whether it be County or LATTC). Yes, County's NCLEX rate is excellent and their clinicals are phenomenal, but at the end of the day you will be investing 2 years of your "blood, sweat & tears" (ok, so maybe I'm exaggerating a bit with the "blood" part! lol)! So just be sure to choose a program that is most comfortable for you, and not feel you should choose one over the other because one particular program may seem more popular than the other (not saying you are going to ultimately choose based on that). :)

Hi guys! I got an email from Pasadena College stating that I got accepted for Spring 2014. Wow! God is so good all the time! Im still waiting at the county buy atleast one college replies already...goodluck to all of us future nurses and check your email if you are waiting at PCC

I am soooo very happy for you! It's wonderful that you kept your faith up! PCC is also a great school and glad that you will be starting this Spring, regardless to what happens with County! Time for you to celebrate! :)

Thank you so much! I was about to give up since most of you got the acceptance letter from the county. Im still waiting from the county though, since its my first choice. But I will accept PCC for now atleast I have a spot reserved!
