Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi Everyone, I will be applying to the nursing program at Lacconah during the application period of January 15 to February 15 2021. I will be applying with 78 points. On the website it says points required for acceptance have ranged between 77 and 82 points during the past 2 years.  Has anyone had 78 points as well and was given acceptance into the program? Also what are everyones points that are planning to apply to the generic RN program here.

Hey everyone I just checked the website this morning and it says "Application for Fall 2021 Basic -RN program entry has been canceled due to the current surge in the COVID-19 pandemic. The next application period will open on June 15 for Spring 2022 entry."

So disappointing ?

Forreal my only chances now are CSULA or CSULB. If not then I'm gonna just change my major and do a ABSN or direct entry MSN program. This is my 4th year since starting college from high school, taking prereqs, transferring etc and it's taking forever.... ?

Wow, just saw this. I'm surprised they are cancelling. I would think the vaccination process would be well underway by Fall 2021 and they could handle a new class.

They postponed Spring semester and made the announcement 2 weeks before the first week of school (orientation). Faculty and staff are practicing nurses and medical professionals. They were deployed to work sites.  It came as a shock to our cohort as many students resigned from their jobs ahead of classes. So while application is closed, our cohort is with you in spirit.

Oh wow. That makes a lot more sense why they are not accepting new applicant then. It sounds like your cohort had the biggest shock to deal with. Will you all be starting in the fall then?

Yes; we are trying to figure out how we are going to make our finances stretch as many of us were counting on financial aid. Since we are not in school, we can't get financial aid.

Many of us also purchased over $840 worth of textbooks. Our uniforms and supplies were ordered back in November or December. We were notified by email on December 29th. First day of orientation was supposed to be January 11th.

We have a virtual meeting with the dean and faculty tomorrow. As much as it was a downer for people planning on applying, those accepted for fall were also hit quite hard. We are all in this together.

That sounds so hard. Wishing the best for you and your cohort. Thank you for letting us know what is going on!

Thank you. Wishing everyone the best on their applications.

Hey guys, thought I should let you know that they added a note on the application site that they aren't accepting applicants for Fall 2021 since Spring 2021's incoming cohort just got moved to Fall because of Covid.

I have a question about the stethoscopes. Do you have to buy your own or do they provide one? Thank you.

For the P.E requirement, there saying it could be P.E or a kinesiology class? I took a P.E class over the Summer for weight lifting and the subject says PE, but not sure if it fits the requirement?

Hi there, I was curious if the PE course can be in progress?? Last time I applied this wasn't a requirement so I'm a bit lost. I have everything else completed. Please lmk if you know anything!
