Los Angeles City College of Nursing and Allied Health

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi Everyone, I will be applying to the nursing program at Lacconah during the application period of January 15 to February 15 2021. I will be applying with 78 points. On the website it says points required for acceptance have ranged between 77 and 82 points during the past 2 years.  Has anyone had 78 points as well and was given acceptance into the program? Also what are everyones points that are planning to apply to the generic RN program here.

Hello I will be applying as well. I took Microbiology at a private university and the lecture and lab were graded separately. I got an A in the lecture and a B in the lab. If they average that grade as a B, then I’ll have 81 points. If they count it as an A, then I’ll have 86 points. This is without the interview.

Hi!

It took me a little while to figure out which college you were referring to since your title says city college, not county. I was going through my papers trying to figure out if there was a program I missed! LOL.

I believe they did not do interviews last semester due to Covid. Assuming I score above 75% on the TEAS next month, 86 points.

My mistake yes Los Angeles County College Of Nursing and Allied Health is what I meant to say. Looking pretty good with the 86 points after TEAS test. Past posts on this website I have seen people usually with 80 points getting in.

Thank you for your comment. Yeah I would say call your private university to see if they are going to take your lecture grade as your final grade or they are going to average your lecture and lab grades. So that no confusion comes up in the future.

Why should I contact them? On my transcript they're are listed separately and I only attended for a year. I've since withdrew and transferred to a community college.

If they are already on your transcript no need to contact them. I was not sure if they were already on your transcript.

Do they allow repeat of courses for higher points? My concerns is where took english I had to take Freshman English 1A and 1B. I got a B during the first semester and an A the second semester. Do they take the higher grade or just the first attempt?

Yes, I believe they take the highest grade, especially for science classes. Are these separate classes?  They'll take the class they think is equivalent to English 101 so I would ask which one they'll accept. Not sure how it works for classes with two parts though.

Yes, they’re separate. They were 3 semester units each.
