Hello future nurses!

I am starting this new thread for everybody that is planning to apply to LACC's nursing program for Fall 2014. How many of you are planning to apply for Fall 2014? I'll be finishing my last prerequisite (chemistry) this winter and hope to apply in February. Good luck to us all!

Wow! Good luck! Now I just need 16 more people to decide not to go to LACC - how bizarre! It's my home school. So close to my house. Fingers are crossed!

I need to call them and drop my spot as I decided to go to COC. Good luck. I will call today

Not necessarily as some of those 16 alternates got accepted somewhere else .... I keep my finger cross !

Did you get accepted anywhere else ?

I just tried to call them but no one answer.

Yeah, they don't answer the phone after noon sometimes. Ask for ----------------. She's super nice. Yes, some may have been accepted elsewhere and never told LACC that they weren't going to attend. I haven't applied anywhere else because I needed one more pre-rev - LACC allowed me to apply with one in progress. Other schools would not. I've now finished all of them and taken TEAS. I have a cut score of well over 82 or 83. Got an 83 on TEAS. But I can't afford to go to more expensive schools or to take more prerecs. I'm really praying I get in this fall. Thanks for your msg. Does anyone have any thoughts about getting in with an A40 that is now an A17 number? Sheesh! I'm dying not knowing! Has anyone ever heard of anyone getting in with these high of numbers?

Oh wow! You'd be getting in for sure. Are you going to give up your alternate spot, since you have been accepted to Cal State, or you would attend CC?

I know that usually ----------------- is there after 9:30 and def M, W, & F during summer months. But you could try tomorrow.

She doesn't have to talk to ---------------, whoever picks up the phone, just tell them that you are declining your spot in the program.

Also, the deadline for submitting the medical package is July 10, after that, whoever didn't submit the package (due to going someplace else, or another reason) will be dropped from the program, and then, they will start calling the rest of the alternates so they can complete the medical requirements before August 11 (boot camp)

I hope you will get in. Fingers crossed for you. LACC is my home college too and I love it there. I believe you still have a chance to get in ;-)

Yes, anyone who answers can take your "not going to attend" info, but -------------- is who knows everything from my experience. She's SOOOOOO nice too! Marci also said she thinks I still have a chance. It's so crazy! When I got 40 I just assumed that was it. Not knowing is killing me! I guess I will call there after July 15th or so to see if my position has changed. Wow...the pins and needles are killing me. So happy for you all who did get in! That's awesome! Very exciting!

Hi, do you know for the 2 step TB skin test. Do the shots have to be within a week within each other and is a couple months okay?

They have to be within a week of each other.. I did them within a week of each other because that's what the paper said to do.. You can call and double check with the nursing department just to make sure. I hope that helps :-)

I don't think we will be getting anymore calls from the nursing dept unless there is something missing in your package. Next step would be the boot camp. I hope to see you at the boot camp :-)
