My professor has a disease called "loopus." What is this and how is it detected?
You guys crack me up. Seriously to OP: I have lupus (SLE) it is a serious and complex diesease worth learning more about. It is an autoimmune disease that can effect any and all organs ie. kidneys, brain, lungs. The symptoms are diverse and it can take time to diagnose, as there is not just one definitive test. The disease tends to flare and then go into a remission of sorts and then cycle again. It is not well understood by many and that includes most people in the medical profession.
Personally I have lost more than one friend and had many family members distance themselves from me
I would never think to make fun of someone because of a disease or condition they suffer from. The typo got me going too.
This past year I had to go on synthroid, which caused diabetes to kick in, plus Im in those lovely pre-menopausal years. One of my friends said she thinks my ovaries are going to go on strike and says a good 20yr old stud could 'fix' all of my hormone problems.
Sometimes laughter makes life and our problems easier to deal with, true?

I'm so sorry that happened to you. It's very painful to have that happen. I only hope that I didn't inadvertantly contribute to your pain with my joking response to this thread. I truly meant no harm. Please accept my apology.
