I've been accepted to both Regis College and the Mass College of Pharmacy (MCPHS), which are local schools here in Boston.
I'm hoping to hear from NP students in these programs to help me make a decision. I'd be attending the PMNHP (psych NP) program, but any review from other NP specialties would be helpful. Their tuition and program timeline are similar.
Any insight would be appreciated!!

Did you ever get a response ? Unable to tell when you posted this question, I just applied for Spring 2022 , I am trying to talk to someone that has done this program at MCPHS.

I attend Regis online. Not too happy with the program, but I've heard the on-campus program is a lot better.
I have a coworker that went to MCPHS and liked it, although she said that like me, she had a very difficult time securing a preceptor. Regis helped me find a preceptor about 1/3 way into the first clinical semester, but I have classmates that received no assistance. I'm not sure if that is due to lack of follow-up with the school on the students' parts, or not.
Also, I am not sure, but I think that MCPHS may spread out their clinical hours over more semesters than Regis. I don't know if I would have wanted to do that, unless I was also achieving more clinical hours. Some of the classes are time consuming enough, without the additional constraints of clinicals.
Jamillah, thanks for your comments. Very helpful, I will look into clinical hours , that is true clinical hours may be spread out at MCPHS. I may like it better as it gives me exposure to the real world while studying instead of waiting whole year before being exposed to clinical, although it also has its constraints indeed.
Are you attending Regis psychiatric NP Program now? How far along are you? Would love to continue to chat about your experience. Are you able to email me [email protected] to stay in touch

Hi Sarlah, I did start the PMHNP program at MCPHS. I have to say I like their program. It is hard and time consuming, but doable. And I feel supported by most of the faculty.
@Lana717Thank you , yes one person answered but maybe we could talk more about your experience during the program and now that you are done working in the field. My email is [email protected]

I began the MCPHS ADN-MSN, FNP online program in fall 2020. The ADN-FNP is a 3 yr program & MSN, FNP is a 2 year program. The first year of the ADN-FNP is a “bridge” to prepare students for the MSN, FNP portion the following year. MCPHS offers 2 tracks, FNP & PMHNP. In the beginning of the program both tracks start together & learn the 3 P’s together (Adv. Patho, Adv. Pharm, & Adv Physical Assessment). After Adv Phys. Assess then, we break-off into our specific tracts. Throughout the program I have felt supported by faculty. I appreciate that our didactic coincides with our clinical experiences. Our cohort is approximately 25 FNP students. I also appreciate that even though we’re an online program we meet regularly virtually for colleague collaboration. I’m about to enter my second & final year. Yesterday was my first day of clinicals. Other FNP, AGNP students I worked with yesterday will be graduating in the next few months but are just beginning clinical rotations. They expressed to me that they would’ve preferred to have their clinical rotations with didactic. Hope this was helpful!

I have been accepted into the PMHNP CAGS program at MCPHS. I am wondering what the clinical rotation is like. It appears that it coincides with the didactic portion of the courses. I wonder how this fits into to a schedule if you are working fulltime.

Hi guys, my name is Toni. I'm an RN student, and trying to plan the right course of action for my NP. Since MCPHS has the online RN-MSN program where you can start with just your associate degree, I'm very interested in learning more about that! Regis has the same program, and I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I am seriously looking into the MCPHS program for PMHNP. I am taking some basic course at Umass (3 p's) to get started and will hopefully transfer. I was wondering if anyone has experience with receiving scholarship from this school. or access to any of the gov funds to help students become providers due to the shortage? This school is pretty expensive, but I'm hoping to get a some aid, I heard students from some schools like Rivier get automatic 10k back after clinicals due to the shortage as an incentive. I was hoping this was true for more schools. LMK!
