Looking For Other Pa Nurses!!!!

Hello all,

I'm taking this chance to meet other nurses in PA. Who knows, maybe I've meant some of you. I graduated a year ago, and meant a lot of other nursing students in clinicals, and such.

Anyway, if you're interested in joining this discussion to meet others in PA who are recent grads., leave some comments.

Anyway, I'm wondering what kinds of hours everyone else is working, where people are working, what kinds of skills you're all learning, and your current job satisfaction, etc. Right now, I work quite a number of hours in a cardiovascular surgical unit. It's pretty good experience. Sometimes I find I get taken advantage of to work a lot of hours, but most times I don't mind, cuz I get a lot of good experience. I may move on to CRNA school someday. Any body else have grad. school aspriations?

Anyway, if you're a recent grad. or from PA, join the discussion, and let people know what's out there for new grads.

Hi! I'm in PA .. about 45 mins north of pittsburgh. Not a newbie though. Been LPN for 19 years now. Recently took some time off and am now back at it and loving every minute of it. !!:nurse:

can't believe some on is actually from Scranton, Pa. that little coal minning city is dead. they even killed Nay Aug Park. Ha Ha

and what did they do to Scranton Tech and Central High School? Who plays the thanksgiving football game now since the schools were combined? I also got my LPN from Lackawanna area vo tech. Now I am an RN.

I have no clue about the football games, because I wasn't born up here. I'm originally from Carbon County, a little town called Lansford. Nice to see another Career Tech grad tho.

Scranton is making a comeback tho. Parks are nice and green and clean, they even want to do a handicapped-accessable treehouse in Nay Aug now. Downtown is being re-vitalized, and it's a fairly nice place to live now. I'm still moving to FL in Sept or Oct tho! LOL

they have been redoing downtown for the past thirty years. The mall is nice, but I miss all the old stores. Change is hard. When I was a kid the thanksgiving game was a biggy between Central and Tech. The only thing still there is Coney Island and a pizza place I forget the name that has the best pizza. Oh, I think the fish place is there "Coopers" great Lobster tails. I'm not sure where carbon county is. I lived in Lake Ariel, Honesdale, Taylor, Scranton, Dunmore. Still have family in Dunmore and Taylor. When I was a teenager we use to hang out at Nay Aug Park but some of the hippies as they were called back then fed the animals dope. It was a nice Park/ Zoo to take your kids too on a Sunday. The pool was shaped like a lake and called Lake Lincoln. It was huge. Oh well things change. Where are you working. When I graduated the LPN program they weren't letting us into the hospitals to work. When I was there I worked at the Jewish Home. CMC is still there. I stopped there when I was back but that also changed a lot. Well I guess I got a little winded. So where are you working? Are you actually in Scranton?
