Looking for an employer in Vancouver

I am RN from Israel. Nowadays I study for the CRNE and already have the temopary registration. In addition, I am looking for an employer in Vancouver. What is the best way to find one? Should I contact hospitals directly or to look for an agency?

I was just wondering, when you apply for a job under your interim permit/temporary registration, you use the title RN temporary/s right? Lets say you apply online and usually institutions have positions for RN.. are you qualified to apply for that? or...? because I've read that if you're under an interim permit you're not really an RN yet, you're like an extra to the team and you have to have someone supervise you.. so how does one go about applying for a job while under an interim? :(

I've scheduled to take the october 2008 exam here in bc and haven't been using my interim permit (well i haven't filled out the form coz' sadly I can't find an employer willing to hire me)

anyways thanks to those who can give some food for thought :)

Most employers want to see that the exam is actually passed, just like here in the US.

You need to tell them that you have an interim permit when you apply, just as you would do anyplace else in the world.

It is getting harder and harder to get hired with the temporary permit at least in the Vancouver area, you may have better luck actually in other cities.

With an interim permit you would be considered the equivalent of a graduate nurse. You can't use the title RN until you've passed the CRNE and received your registration.

oh.. ic. yeah, i sort of noticed the difference between trying to get a job in say surrey than in vancouver (outside the nursing field though).. anyways, thanks for the advice. I'm thinking I'll probably wait til' I've gotten my results before I try again.. :)
